[Developed by Jia Miao, Zi Wei, Shannon]Our app aims to help teachers who are extremely busy communicate with parents with ease. It allows teachers to inform the parents about school events and is a one-stop portal for important information like schedule for remedial or supplementary lessons, topics to be tested in the examinations, dates of examinations, etc. Our project hopes to eliminate the excessive circulars that the school has to print in order to reduce the amount of unnecessary waste generated. Also, it eliminates the need for teachers to type, print, stapler, give out and collect the acknowledgement slips for the circulars, reducing the time teachers spend on administrative matters, giving them more time to prepare their lessons. Also, it benefits the students as they no longer have to remind their parents to sign their forms and get reprimanded if they forget as their parents would be notified immediately via the app.
Our app allows the school to upload a calendar of events for the term. Subsequently, the class teacher will be able to add on to the calendar. Parents can get real-time updates of the schedule and have it on hand at anytime they need it. The app will also send a notification to the parents whenever there are notices, e.g. schedule for examinations, notice of fund-raising activities, etc. Also, our app eliminates the need for consent forms as they can be digitalised. Parents would just have to sign it digitally and the teacher would not need to spend precious class time collecting consent forms. Also, the app allows the teacher to keeps track of which parents have seen or have not seen the notices sent out.
Our target users are teachers and parents. Our app increases efficiency in the area of administrative matters in school, leaving more time for teaching and learning. It also saves the environment and would definitely be welcomed by people who care for the environment.
