About Us

We're Dale and Carrie Spoonemore, the creators of “From Seed to Spoon.” We decided in spring of 2015 that we wanted to try growing food for our family of 6. We started with a typical Oklahoma Bermuda grass lawn, and over the course of two years, we converted it into an urban backyard food farm. We spent nearly all of our free time over the course of those two years reading books, attending classes, and watching YouTube videos to learn all we could about gardening and growing food, and now our FREE mobile app combines everything we've learned into one easy to use app!

We remember how lost and overwhelmed we felt when we first started, and now we want to share what we’ve learned in hopes of helping others grow food for themselves as well! Growing your own food doesn't have to be difficult and we're here to help you grow food efficiently, economically, and sustainably!

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★The app is great. Being able to sync between the app and the website is fantastic. The amount of data available about expected germination dates and harvests have helped me plan my garden to be more productive than ever before. The only thing I would want to see added at this time is a grid that auto fills based on the location input I the Garden+ section. I would have paid money for everything you are able to do with it thus far, and I would definitely pay for a premium app with more features.
2 ★Good concept - better than most others. But the performance is horrible. I tried on three different phones, with android 4 to android 11. They claim it's Google WebView issue but even with old versions the same happens. I tried with Edge browser and the slowness was the same. Only with Chrome browser, the speed fas OK. Many fruits, veggies and varieties are missing from the list. For example, nectarine, sour cherry, Hansen cherry bushes etc. No reminders. Watering, fertilizing... Pro version.
5 ★I love checking when each plant can be started in my area. Planning out my gstden beds was made easier with the friends and enemies lists. And now with garden plus I can track and record the whole process. The ways each plant can help my health us also very interesting. I just love everything about it. It is easy to use , very informative. The layout is great. I just can't say enough hood things about it
5 ★This app helped me plan out my entire garden for this year and gave me very insightful tips and ideas. I love the growbot as well, a very useful tool when seeking answers for questions you might have. Not only does it tell you when/how to grow your plants, but it also lists companion and enemy plants as well as probable pests, harvesting tips and even what dishes many people like to make with crops they grow. It made preparing/planning so much easier! Wish I could give it more stars!!!!
4 ★Very pretty app with lots of great information and super easy to use. The first and most important thing I am missing in this app is a way to search by Garden Location (within the garden plant...it'd be nice to have a drop-down list of locations). I have 75 raised beds and would like to see a list of events by bed so that I can keep up with rotation of plants. Other than that, it looks very good!
4 ★Digging it... pun not intended but, let's roll with it. Kinda wondering why Dragon fruits are not added into the list of plants to add into garden. Hopefully this will be down the line. Along with push notifications for watering reminder? To be honest I'm still figuring out the basics of the app but hands down I really like this one having the ability to purchase items related to the plant is an awesome feature. 👌 keep it up folks
1 ★3/23 Still unusable 5/22 Would change to negative stars. HORRIBLE lagging. Every click lead to the "not responding" screen with "close or wait" option. EVERY CLICK!!! Super frustrating and makes the app completely unusable! & it never loads if you select "wait". Original: Great app! Lots of info and just what I need. I have a horribly brown thumb. Lost a star due to slow processing/loading when clicking on anything. "Close or Wait" error code happens a lot for me.
3 ★An exciting guide to start with, but needs some improvements: *Tab list across the bottom does not resize well in portrait orientation, Plants and Articles tabs cut off at either side of screen. *Doesn't have cumin in the plants list. We will continue to use this app and get accustomed to it as well as our new garden. Thanks for making it!
4 ★They're doing an awesome job, I only give it 4 stars because of the list of plants, which is a long one, but not yet exhaustive. It does seem to be something the developers are working on, though. I would also like to see a more flexible list sorting function. There is a range of information available in easy to read tables and short pieces of text. A great reference tool.
5 ★I love using this app! It shows you when it's time to start each plant type in your area, and whether you should be starting indoors or out. Each plant type has a list of companions and enemies, so you know what gets along together. It also tells you how many plants will fit in each square foot, or how much container capacity you need.
2 ★It was still a work in progress before the latest update and paid feature requirement. I only kept using it with the hope that continual improvements would make it great, however with now requiring a monthly subscription or a very steep one-time cost for an app I wasn't sold on to begin with, I'm ready to look for a better alternative.
4 ★I really like using this app. It really helps me as a beginner gardener. The unfortunate feature about this app is the fact that the display screen for the app is too large and exceeds the fit of my phone. There are tabs that are cut off on each end at the bottom of my screen that I can't really get to and use.
