FOREGROUND SERVICES USAGE REASONS
This application requires a foreground service to ensure reliable functionality during workouts. In compliance with Google Play policies, foreground services are necessary when the app performs essential background tasks, including:

1. Location tracking: Continuously monitoring the user's GPS position to record an accurate route for their workout. This is critical for displaying the workout path on the map and calculating distances.

2. Timers and notifications: Managing workout intervals (e.g., run/walk cycles) and notifying the user in real-time without interruptions.

3. Health and fitness tracking: Recording physical activity, such as step counting, to generate detailed fitness statistics post-workout.

The app uses both FOREGROUND_SERVICE_TYPE_LOCATION for location-related tracking and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_TYPE_HEALTH for health and fitness features. These services ensure uninterrupted functionality, even when the screen is off or the app is in the background, aligning with the user's expectations for a fitness application.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

5 ★Intuitive, easy to use, tracks my progress ... it does exactly what I need it to do and that is to help me get from couch to 5k. Super happy with it. I do recommended.
5 ★I've just finished the Couch to 5km training using this app, so it does what it advertises! I paid to remove the ads and I found the app very straightforward to use, well worth the price. There's no clutter which I really liked. Though at the end of the day, it only has training programs for 5km and 10km runs so if you're looking to track a normal workout you can't do that here. One nice feature to add might be to show your pace split between the warm up walking and the running segments.
3 ★The workouts are good, but the tracking doesn't work quite right. If you have your phone screen shut off and the phone in your pocket or arm holder when you finish your workout the app will freeze and you'll have to force shut it. When you open it, it will remember your workout but it will track your distance as a straight line from start to finish (so a circle will yield 0k). This is fixed if you take your phone out and open the app just before finishing your cool down.
3 ★I've just completed my first week and I'm pleased I got this app. However, the app is frozen when I try to use my phone at the end of the run, after the cool down period. I read another review that recommends going into the app before the cool down part is done. I will try that, but I really shouldn't need to. There is a padlock icon at the bottom of the screen in the app which makes me think it's locked, rather than frozen, but there is no obvious way to unlock it if that is the case. Also, it would be great if there is a notification, be it verbal or a sound that indicated you are coming to the end of a walk to prepare for the next run. Also, some kind of audible notification when the run has 10 or so seconds left. There were a few occasions that I did not complete a run only to find 5 seconds after I started walking the run was stopping anyway. One other suggestions would be an audible notification when you are about the start the final run. I can't be the only one that if I knew a particular run was going to be the last of the session it would give me a bit of a boost. I would rate this higher and maybe only 3 stars is a bit harsh, but there's always room to make an app the perfect app.
3 ★Despite the fact that this used Google Maps the distance is NEVER correct. I use this in conjunction with Google Fit and it's always a difference of about a kilometer 😠
3 ★Overall, the simple and to the point interface was awesome to see, and easy to use. And after a few weeks, i paid to remove ads because I've definitely gotten value from it. Ran into a couple issues though: a couple of my early runs it kept restarting the timer for each interval i was already a minute into.. So i had to start guessing where i was at and skipping ahead. And now I'm approaching week 5, and the 3rd run it has me running 20 minutes straight? And the statistics arent accurate anymore
3 ★App is much better now I've found/the app developers have added an always on feature. Before the app was quitting during sessions, which was really annoying. The really annoying thing now is the way the training sessions are arranged. I'm on week 5 and the last session wants you to run continuously for 20 minutes. News flash after getting knackered after running continuously for 8 minute intervals I ain't ready for 20 minutes! I'm an unfit, 5' 9", 57 year old, 14 stone bloke...
1 ★Keeps crashing! I'm only on week 2 of training and the app has closed 3 times mid run, losing the entire run! What is going on?? Is this a known bug? Absolutely horrible app.
3 ★I am having trouble with the app crashing. I kill all other apps except Spotify (no better stimulant than good music), Bluetooth to my headphones, and of course the app. Nothing is worse than being into like a late interval and you've been gutting it out just begging for the bell and nothing comes because the app has crashed.
5 ★Great app. It does freeze after the end of a workout but if you force shut and open again it keeps your statistics and tracks GPS well (make sure your device isnt on power save mode as this limits your GPS). It also has indoor mode for treadmill runs that lets you input your recordings as well. Gives you an indication of the speed of your run with a badge also. I've used this app from couch to 5k and now almost finished 10k and I really like it. Definitely recommend.
3 ★It's good. It's working. I don't love the ads. I'd pay for no-ad + a bit more analytics.
4 ★Great app for learning how to pace yourself and build up stamina through interval training. Could use a few small add-ons such as verbal notifications when you are about to start the next interval or when you have a few seconds left in the interval. I have found it helps to prepare you a bit mentally for what is about to come.
