저는 80년 초에 신학교에 입학하던 날이 회상되고 입학 당시부터 열정적이셨던 설립자 백석 장종현 목사님의 모습이 떠오르면서 그 시절 그 시간도 새롭게 기억됩니다. 오늘의 저를 만들어준 곳은 바로 이곳 모교, 이 나라 복음화 일군들의 산실이자 21C 대한민국의 영적인 꿈과 희망의 터전, 백석신학교였다는 사실을 다시 한번 가슴 벅차게 느끼고 있습니다.
존경하는 동문 여러분!
우리는 백석신학교에서 배운 그대로 「사랑의 실천자」가 되어야 합니다. 「근면하고 정직하며 겸손하고 주님의 영광을 찬송하는 동문들」로 가득한 동문회가 되어야 합니다. 이것은 백석신학교가 존재하는 한 변할 수 없는 명제입니다. 동문 모두에게 실질적인 도움이 되고 모교와 우리 사회의 발전에 현실적인 도움이 되는 백석신학 동문회를 만들겠다는 목표 또한 여전하다고 봅니다. 그리고 실천 가능한 실천으로 열매를 거두어 나가겠다는 동문회의 행동 실천 방침 또한 연속될 것입니다.

이제 우리 백석 인은 동문회의 조직을 정비하고 꾸준한 노력을 통하여 일정 수준의 성과를 거두는 동문회가 되도록 한 걸음 걸어가겠습니다. 그리고 동문회 『인명록 정비』와 『총동문회 역사』 등을 정리하고 『동문과 재학생의 만남』 , 『동문과 동문의 만남』의 날을 더욱더 단단하게 만들어 대한민국 전반에 영적 영향력을 끼치는 기반을 만들어 가는데 노력을 하겠습니다. 회계의 투명화를 통한 동문회 재정의 개선과 동문회에 동문 들의 입회 그리고 애경사의 문제도 잘 살펴보겠습니다. 또 장기적으로 신학부의 장학재단 설립을 추진하는 데도 동문 들의 뜻을 모아 힘을 쏟겠습니다.
