1 ★Worked the first time I used it and self-serve feature was very useful in allowing return date change to car I was renting. But with the car I am currently renting app shows my car as still awaiting collection, even though I picked it up 12 days ago. Self-serve therefore impossible. I contacted Avis by phone as advised but was told nothing they can do. They just tried to heavy sell a new booking which I didn't need or ask for. App now often freezes at first red screen, even after latest update.
4 ★[Edit] Thanks Avis for fixing this so quickly. Works fine now. The app has all the features I'm looking for. - Bookings: current, upcoming and past - Avis Preferred membership points and level - The ability to book - Special offers The only thing that is a minor annoyance is the time to load details on bookings and the fact it doesn't cache the details so you need to be connected to see bookings. When you're abroad (where it's needed most) that isn't always guaranteed.
1 ★terrible. when you're booking on the ipad or Android app and you insert your flight info it says there's an error with your personal info. the only way to complete the booking is to delete your flight info which means if your flight arrives late at night and is delayed (as haired to me this week) the Avis people have no way of knowing you'll be late and they may close or give your car away as a no show
1 ★The app worked fine on my old phone, but I have had my Samsung S8 plus for a couple of months now and I haven't been able to get the app to open since. I have the red Avis screen and that's as far as I get. Not helpful when I have an upcoming trip.
1 ★The app no longer runs properly - it stays on a red intro screen with Avis written on it. This has been bad for months now, so not just a mistaken update / release. This appears to be working after an update August 2019. It took months though, so not changing my star rating.
2 ★Can never seem to retrieve my rental. When it works it is great, as I'm able to complete my rental details ahead of time and don't have to queue. But it works one time in ten. The other nine times it either cannot find my booking or it can but it just hangs trying to 'retrieve' it.
1 ★This app fails to load on my Samsung S10+. It either sticks with a red AVIS screen, or gets a lil bit further and shows the menu indicator in the top right. That being said, it doesn't respond at all. Let it sitting for several minutes without success. Still have it installed in the hope of an update to resurrect it
1 ★Hopeless app. It cant find my booking...when I enter information manually, it invites me to "pay online now" (even though I've received the confirmation email saying I've paid) and when I try to swipe out of paying again, it asks me if I want to cancel the booking.
1 ★Used to use this app on a Galaxy S7 but will not start up on my Galaxy S9. just get a red screen. please debug/ fix, thanks V4.6.0 update 29 May 2019 V 4.7.0 still not staring up on Galaxy S9. update 10 Jun 2018 3rd update V 4.8.0 still not working on Galaxy S9. App is becoming as useless as some of your staff. please fix.
5 ★I love this app because it is seamless, instant, allows changes and upgrades immediately and allows for amazing self service in line with innovative thinking. Customer care is continually improving and to see the reality of this within the carhire industry is truly awesome and heartwarming. I have only had stunning experiences with Avis and their fantastic staff... I would highly recommend them for quality, competitive prices, awesome attitude and great service ❤️
1 ★This app is horroble! Painfully slow, wouldn't let me enter details - I had to do this on the site which then transferred across - and every time there's an error the app closes. Making me think I should go with another rental company for my upcoming trip.
1 ★If you like apps with spinning wheels and messages saying 'please wait retrieving your booking' constantly and apps that don't let you actually do anything more as it hangs with the above for over 20 minutes then this is the app for you. If on the other hand you want an app that will let you see your booking and be useful, look elsewhere.
