Situada en las zonas agrícolas del norte de España, el hórreo es una pequeña construcción de madera destinada a conservar los alimentos y protegerlos de los animales para lo cual se encuentra elevada del terreno sobre pilares. Su origen se remonta a la Edad Media datando el más antiguo de los preservados hoy en día de 1768. Los cambios en la agricultura y el éxodo rural han dejado a esta tipología sin uso alguno y en muchos casos desaparece fruto de la no conservación.
