4 ★News by city is good. Wish there was also a way to filter news by category (ex federal politics, provincial politics, city news, etc) as someone that doesn't live in Vancouver I really don't want to see Vancouver city specific news.
2 ★Full page ads where it whites out the article's text has got to go. You have to scroll to find a sweet spot where the text comes back but at times it doesn't until half way into the article. Very frustrating! At times the article is unreadable because of these ads. Slow loading of this version is an issue too. Blue screen version was quick however when they switched to a white screen, loading times increased at least 10x.
1 ★The updates to this app have made it the worst news app available. The weather app that was available before was very good and easy to use. This app is absolutely useless. I have deleted this app and am now using the Global News Skytracker weather app. It gives the local forecast the way CTV used to. Another bad move by CTV. Edmonton CTV news is now not worth watching.
3 ★Actual usability could improve (e.g. you have to scroll all the way back up to change news feeds) but the bigger issues that plague the app are: -I increased my system font size by one step and so far this is the only app unable to respond correctly. Text is overwriting other text and thus cannot be read - there continues to be a non response issue with some menus and do not scroll all the way to the bottom of the list of stories or you will have to pop out and back in to move to other sections
1 ★CTV recommended this app after telling me the trusted CTV weather app was discontinued. I downloaded it so I could see stoon weather No weather section to be found.I looked at the stories, and surprise, there was a weather story... I read it and surprise, the days weather was a couple of paragraphs that showed the daily weather stats. Not good enough! Fix it or perhaps bring back the old one?
1 ★Every time I try to share a news item to facebook, I can't bc it says that the app is still in the development and I haven't spoken to the adm nor developer for permission. I've done ever thing Is humanly possible & I still can't. Can't share anything from CTV News app. Oh & I couldn't. Every where is no problem on my tablet & phone.
3 ★This app consistently says there is no internet connection when all of my other apps connect to the internet. I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Issue started about a month ago. The CTV app for local cities works well all the time. Using a Galaxy S7 version 7.0 android.
1 ★I hate when I click on some stories a video automatically starts playing and then I basically have to close the app for it to stop. I deleted the app before because of this, redownloaded it last week and on the cusp or redeleting. This is the first review I have ever left for an app, it's been THAT frustrating.
1 ★The CTV news weather app was awesome. It was the most accurate thanks to Josh. Now when I try and use it it directs me to this app. I want my local weather, not the news. Please bring the weather app back! Thank-you.
1 ★Can't use it unless I'm off wifi getting a error saying both url and html body cannot be empty so thats dumb. Plus I live in an apartment building I load a article to read go in elevator and app crashes cause no internet but it was fully loaded so in my option shouldn't crash the app on me. I've had for about 2 years just has gotten bad lately
1 ★For some reason, it will not let me share to FB anymore. Saids there is an error. Is this intentional? Because, if it is, then I have switched to CBC and Global for my news. Not smart, if it is intentional.
1 ★Always keeps sending me annoying alerts and breaking news updates after I repeatedly turn those notices off in the settings area. App is also very unstable and crashes often and freezes up. Same result on several different phones. Hoping they can improve this app because I like CTV News !
