Ylen Sibkompassi-sovelluksella kaikenikäiset voivat sukeltaa säveltäjä Jean Sibeliuksen elämään.Minuutin mittaiset kokonaisuudet antavat uuden mahdollisuuden eläytyä Sibeliukseen paitsi säveltäjänä myös ihmisenä.
Kompassinuoli opastaa Sibeliuksen Järvenpäässä sijaitsevaan kotiin, Ainolaan.
Kompassi on taiteellinen työ, ei tarpeeksi tarkka suunnistukseen. Jokaisesta ilmansuunnasta aukeaa yksi Hannu Linnun johtaman Radion sinfoniaorkesterin esittämä sinfonia, jonka alkutahdit on kuvitettu videokuvalla ja animaatiolla.
Visuaalisissa ratkaisuissa on käytetty inspiraationa Sibeliuksen aikalaistaiteilijoita.

With the Yle Sibkompassi application, people of all ages can take a plunge into the life of composer Jean Sibelius. Each one-minute video gives you a new chance to meet both Sibelius the composer and Sibelius the person.
The compass needle will guide you to Ainola, the home of Sibelius in Järvenpää.
The compass is an artistic work, not exact enough for orienteering.
Each compass point displays a symphony performed by the Finnish Radio
Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Hannu Lintu, with the opening measures illustrated with video image and animation.
The visuals were inspired by the art of Sibelius' contemporaries.
