Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

1 ★Not worth it. Ugh. I used this app on my old phone and it was so useful for helping me organize all my files on my phone and extra memory card. But when I went to download the recent version on my new phone it wanted to track data?! So I immediately uninstalled it. Astro, I would have paid at least $5 for this app, you don't need to make money by selling data or whatever it is you're doing with the data you track.
1 ★Immediately uninstalled. At least they disclosed it up front but they collect information on how you use your phone and ALL the apps you use, and literally do not give you a choice. You click the 'I don't want this' button and it prompts you to agree anyway even though it says you can continue without agreeing. It's not possible to continue without agreeing. Sorry but you don't get my data just because you're free.
2 ★I've used Astro for a while and I've always liked it. Easy enough to use. Now i'm having the same issues as some others. Moving files from internal storage to SD card and the files are 0 in size. It's like it makes a useless copy of the file but doesn't actually move it. I had to install an earlier version but it eventually updated itself so now I'm using another app. I'll definitely use Astro again once/if it's fixed.
5 ★Great file manager. My old phone got damaged and I had to get a phone that is a little difficult to navigate and the file organizer isnt what it should be.and is a pain in the neck. Astro file manager makes it a breeze. Easy to move files from one location to another. Send files and copy without any problems. No bugs. A keeper!
2 ★This was my go-to file manager for many years. After an update over a month or two ago, I'm unable to connect to my Dropbox and it freezes up from time to time. I really like how I can pick how to organize each folder unlike others has only one setting for all folders. Please fix!
5 ★Helpful to manage different types of media. Basically helpful to transform Mobile to Laptop experience, one platform. To be able to manage PC demands from a Mobile platform. Great start. Already use mobile far more than PC, sharing, moving, modifying audio, visual, video files. Astro File Manager has been SO useful to delineate that mobile vs. computer line. Thanks you guys!
5 ★Terrific app. I've been using Astro for years, across multiple phones, to access files at the file-system level. Works great. The latest version makes it easy to find specific file types while retaining the FS-level access. Astro is one of the first apps that I load when configuring a new phone.
5 ★Astro is a bit like the "Missing Manual" books in that it should be included from there start. I've always assumed data management systems (PC's, tablets, phones, etc.) would include a robust, user accesible and user friendly file managment application. That's just a no-brainer, to me. Without one you're really just an interested observer, and it feels kind of like riding in a car with no steering wheel. Call me an old-school geek if you want, but yes, I'd like a steering wheel, please!
1 ★I've been using this app for years and always thought it was close to perfect. But in the last several months, it's been so slow to show the contents of my SD card that it's useless. Sadly, I can't even use the app anymore and have gone to MiX Explorer because it's pretty good and actually works. I sent an email to the new developer team and nothings been fixed and I didn't get a reply. Nice job destroying a good app.
1 ★Very invasive app. On the opening screen it mentions that it needs to track which websites you visit so that it can target ads to you. NO THANKS! People are getting wiser about privacy, and app maker need to find a bettwr business model. I would readily pay a few bucks for a good app that does what I need without making me the product.
1 ★The last update on 12/17/2020 killed the app. Literally. It has crashed at every attempt to use it. I've tried clearing the cache, force stopping, clearing data, uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling, even rebooting into safe mode to use, and done all this several times, but it remains 100% unusable. Used to be a great app. It it is officially dead.
4 ★ASTRO is *exactly* a file manager. It is a near ideal implementation of a tool for a specific use with complete core functionality, and otherwise no frills. It does everything it should to call itself a file manager. It has little other fancy, over-the-top functionality beyond that, but just how much of a song and dance do you want your *file manager* to do?
