Timetable & real-time departure information:
Open Nextstop and immediately see tram/bus stops near you. Click on a stop and Nextstop will show you which public transport departs when. On the map you can see the location of all stops and so you get your best way there.
If you see a blue "live" icon above the departure times, they are real-time. That way you immediately see current delays or disturbances. In case you don't see the blue icon, departures of the metro, tram, train, bus or express-train are displayed according to schedule."

Not only can you search for stops but also for Point of Interests such as shopping malls, restaurants or a museum. Nextstop will show you stops nearby that POI. You can move the map towards the area you want to search in as well.
Mark your most important stops with a star, this way you can find them under "favorites" at any time.
Or prefer "your" public transportation line so all stops show the departures of this specific line.

A special thank you to Lena from customer service for being so prompt, friendly and helpful! Lena also answered other questions I had about the area and provided us with the best subway route to get to our hotel on the first night. From our arrival on, finding the bus and using the app's bus ticket was a smooth and easy process. I also found the public transportation feature of the app incredibly helpful (much more than Google Maps, which didn't seem to include subway routes at all). Even without cell service, a quick screenshot taken of the routes we needed to take before leaving the hotel was enough to get us through each day. Vienna's subway is one of the cleanest, most user-friendly and efficient public transportation systems I've ever encountered, and this app's usability certainly reflects a similar level of quality, which added to our positive experience. We absolutely fell in love with the beautiful city of Vienna and can't wait to come back!
