徳島の「阿波踊り」に対抗して生まれた「高知よさこい祭り」。それを拡げた北海道の 「YOSAKOIソーラン祭り」。いずれも今や日本を代表する大きなお祭りになっています。全国に多々あるお祭りやイベント。昔は神事や伝統が優先されましたが、時代も変わり人が集まる仕組みの中で、経済波及効果も期待されるようになってきました。昨今では人と人をつなげる趣味やスポーツ同様に、よさこいが全国に波及しています。ちばの新しい文化を目指して2004年に産・官・学・民が一体となった組織運営で開催されました。誰にでも始められる間口の広さ、ここに至る過程を感じられる奥の深さがよさこいの魅力、選ばれしチーム達によるファイナルステージは圧巻の演舞です。その後、諸事情や天候に流され中止や開催場所も変わりましたが、この「ちばYOSAKOI」が大切にしていることは変わりません。多様性に溢れ、秩序あるチームと秩序あるお祭りの波及を目指し、「ちばYOSAKOI」はたくさんの人へ楽しさと感動を与えられる祭り運営を目指します。
