Description
SW Maps is a free GIS and mobile mapping app for collecting, presenting and sharing geographic information.Whether you are conducting a full scale GNSS survey with high precision instruments, need to collect large amount of location based data using nothing but your phone, or just need to view a few shapefiles with labels over a background map on the go, SW Maps has it all covered.
Record points, lines, polygons and even photos and have them displayed over your choice of background map, and attach custom attribute data to any feature. Attribute types include text, numbers, an option from a predefined set of choices, photos, audio clips and videos.
Conduct high accuracy GPS surveys using external RTK capable receivers over Bluetooth or USB Serial.
Draw features on the map by adding markers, and measure distance and area.
Reuse the layers and attributes of a previous project for another survey, or create templates and share them with other users.
Share the collected data with other users as Geopackages, KMZ or shapefiles, or export them to your device storage. Also share and export recorded data as Spreadsheets (XLS/ODS) or CSV files.

To load MBTiles, KML, shapefiles, GeoJSON and GeoPackage from external SD card, create the following folders in the SD card root and copy files to the relevant folders.

5 ★Amazing app, thank you for your efforts. I am using it for archaeological GIS recording and it is really good for it. My equipment (Leica Zeno GG04) connects to the phone via bluetooth and all the RTK corrections come straight from that app (location mocking). That means that if I connect the antenna using your app via BT I do not receive the corrections that the app performs... And only by connecting via your app I can set an instrument height and this is my issue. Could there be an instrument height setting that can be applied outside this connection? Thanks for the great work. Calin
4 ★Its a great open-source mapping utility, but i was unable to export my data, all the CSV and XLS format were corrupted or either too long to export like more than days once finished exporting the data were unable to be opened. Im looking forward to use this as a daily driver for a mapping database. **update : I am unable to export, share option shows to process/progress
3 ★The app has a reasonably simple user interface for simply recording tracks - which is my primary use case. However, once you draw a track, it shows no details such as start and end time, time traveled, etc. I guess you can get all that from looking into the kml file in detail, but my use case is simply to track my drives using a simple app that gives me all this info automatically once I hit end. I'm sure the app is very useful for what it is meant for, but it is not meant for my use-case.
4 ★Good GIS & GNSS app. It is supposed to support RTK, but how do you configure the NTRIP client??? App would be more useful if it included UTC for each point in Features and Track files. This allows easy tracking of feature movement such as measuring reference points on a glacier. Feature and track layers could be written as a GPX file which supports time records.

3 ★Started using it for a project and was really happy with how easy it was to use - until I tried to draw a feature within the area of a previously drawn feature. it just won't do it. I was trying to draw areas, then subdivisions of those areas, then specific points within the areas, but I don't seem to be able to do it.
5 ★This application is wonderful i loved it. It is very helpful in my daily life for mapping different kind of Things, with it now i am paper less, it bring the accuracy by giving final product in shapefile and kml. It it like i am holding GIS Desktop in My smart phone as small as it is.
4 ★Very good app for GIS data collection. There are few issues- Shape files added as layer cannot be edited or its attributes cannot be edited. Distance/Area measurement on the map away from the GPS location is not possible. If these problems are solved it would be the best free mobile app for GIS data collection.
3 ★Hi, I'm a user of U-Blox ZED-F9P RTK receiver and trying using SW Maps as for as NTRIP client. There is no problem when I connect the receiver via bluetooth. Also it can be connected with our national NTRIP caster. But when I checked the rover position through the NTRIP caster portal (website), the latitude position of rover was wrong, while the longitude was correct. The latitude position should be in S (south), but detected as N (North). So I can't reach fix solution for that. Please help
5 ★Seems to be the only app of this kind that is actually free. The 5 or 6 others I tried were free until you need to actually do something useful with the data (like export a shapefile), then they hold your data hostage for a fee.
5 ★Really great for recording locations, attributes, and photos. Easy to share shapefiles. I do wish I could download maps for offline use (unless I can and don't know it) but that is my only nitpick.
3 ★Why is there no control to automatically pan/zoom to a layer feature? If i create a project and import a layer that is located far from me such as kml or shape file polygon then I have to manually pan and zoom to find it, there should be a button to bring a feature into screen then I should be able to save the view position, like any other GIS software would do.
