Description

EnLighten combines GPS information with Connected Signals’ proprietary traffic light prediction technology to make drivers safer, more fuel efficient, and less stressed.

Using real-time traffic light and position information, EnLighten informs drivers about the state of upcoming lights. When possible, EnLighten also provides make/miss speed ranges based on the future state of the lights ahead. In addition, EnLighten provides a countdown to green when a driver is stopped at a red light, which can discourage drivers from starting distracting tasks when the light is about to change.

3 ★This app is cool when it works, but it needs some more refinement. My biggest complaint is that any time it makes any noise, the rest of the current Pandora song is at about half volume. If I'm listening to a podcast on Beyond Pod, and enlighten makes any noise, my podcast is paused and I have to hit play again.

2 ★The developers of enlighten like to go from one extreme to the other. When they first came out with the app, they had it so that you had to keep touching the screen to keep it turned on when in use, now they have it so that the app turns itself on when the user is not wanting it on. Do the developers know how to make an app that will come on only when the user wants it on, and turn off only when the user wants to turn it off?

5 ★I saw this on KSL and thought that it would be something really cool to try out. So, I downloaded it, and it has worked GREAT! Thanks EnLighten! :-)

3 ★Works like it says, but the phone still locks after 15 seconds unless it is counting for a red light. This means to really use it you have to tap it every few seconds or unlock the phone at every light. It kind of defeats the purpose. Other apps will keep the phone from locking. Fix this and it would be an easy 5.

5 ★When I read about this on KSL, people in the comments section were losing their minds, saying how this app is a huge distraction. No. Maybe on the iPhone since you have to have it run in full screen, but on Android, you just drive. It dings. The light turns green. Unless you require driving in absolute silence, a simple ding won't cause you to crash all over the place. Anyhow, it works great for me. Have Waze running and this...helps you anticipate how long stoplights will be (I suggest running a nav app while charging to keep the screen alive). Love the subtle notification icon. I guess people who think this will cause massive pileups should just avoid downloading it...FUD

4 ★Installed it to see if it work in West Valley City, Utah. It recognized about 3 of the 10 red lights I stopped at. Usually it didn't know I was stopped or offer a countdown. I thought it was a great idea, but then thought it really is unnecessary and eats up a ton of battery life because you're always using your gps. Fun trick to show your friends, but wouldn't rely on it and use it on a daily basis. When it does work though, it's pretty cool. UPDATED: Added an additional star for the developer responding to my comment.

1 ★It only worked occasionally, and when it did work it was 20-30 seconds off. Uninstalling.
