3 ★The major floor is that my son has worked out that if he changes his IP address and rejoins the network he can then carry on without any restrictions. I then have to move him back to his profile, which when asleep or busy is hard. I have changed the setting so all the devices joining go straight to the home profile and I have this constantly paused but the device joining still is uncontrolled even though its joined a restricted profile, can the app be changed so joining device are controlled
1 ★Really looked forward to using this app when I signed up to Sky Broadband. However..it seems to think I don't have the right subscription. Which I do.. C'mon Sky fix it.!
1 ★App worked fine for a couple of months, now it wont let me log in as apparently my account doesnt have Sky Boost (which it does). Phoned Sky and was told that theres a known problem with the app and that it's being looked into.......been having the same issue for 3 months now so it must be a massive problem. Poor. Update - 2/3 months later the app still doesnt recognise that my account is set up to use it. Embarrassing.
1 ★Won't let me sign in until I sign up for a boost package but I have fibre max so there's no boost I can add. Just sends me in a circle of "sign in" "need boost" "sign in" etc. Very disappointing. UPDATE: Just noticed a comment on another review. Apparently because I'm on fibre max I can't use broadband buddy. What a ridiculous set up! I want to be able to manage internet access BECAUSE I have fibre max.
5 ★Sky Broadband Buddy is a Fantastic app. So easy to use. Also the fact that Diamond VIP members (15 years +) get it free for 18 months when upgrading to the new packages. The new packages are CHEAPER also. Win Win. My only Criticism is that the app is a little slow at getting updates from my hub. Me and my wife love it. The kids hate it as we now can pause the internet when we want to. The fact also that if I put the app on the Tablets & phones, the buddy works on 3g/4g also. Great job Sky!
1 ★So like most people, I can't get this to work as I already have the superfast fibre broadband. Not overly impressed with sky broadband anyway. Like all Q customers devices get regularly kicked off the connection and sky deny it's their problem. Never happened with the same devices on HD broadband. Now Sky broadband buddy is a non starter. Come on Sky, get your stuff sorted!
3 ★Can't get it to scan for new devices so have to use the code, the scan button will not appear even when I delete and reinstall the app. Manual addition is impossible for an xbox, but luckily that's already scanned and loaded. Otherwise its completely fabulous, after a day or two the kids got used to it. Simple to use, eg you can give two hours of wi fi for two kid devices, even when out of house, and an extra limit of only one hour spent gaming, and a set bedtime. Absolutely amazing :=)
1 ★The VPN part of this is absolutely terrible. When on sites like YouTube or playing, the VPN decides to take its damn time. What would take a few seconds now takes multiple minutes to load and, hey, check this out. Some apps don't even work with this on. Sky is great but really fails when it comes to the youth.
1 ★Installed this on my kids iphone 6,8 and xr and all of them had problems with them. Couldn't send texts and phone calls kept cutting out. On a few occasions the screen on the xr had loads of lines going through it and all phones experienced the screen going black and the phone shutting down. All 3 also suffered from major slow down....tried to keep the app on the phones as long as I could but they became to unstable so had to uninstall it....as soon as I did the phones are working fine again
1 ★In principle this is an amazing idea, the trouble is it simply doesn't work, devices still access the internet despite blocking them, the IP address is correct but it simply stays connected. It also randomly block internet access when access is allowed?? Don't bother DL this app, it's a complete waste of time.
1 ★As mentioned before by others, I cant log in and end up in a loop. I check the boost thing and it reckons "Great news, you already have Sky Fibre, with unlimited monthly usage and superfast speeds it’s ideal for box set marathons and non-stop gaming." So what's the problem? SKY need to get their act together as using the app is not clear.
1 ★Exactly the same as other people, I am on sky fibre super fast unlimited broadband and when I try and sign in, it says I need a boost pack and click to sign in and just repeats itself, what's the point sky? Just to annoy people, well its working, I have the worst router ever and your terms and conditions say I have to use your useless router, and now you release a useless app providing a service that everyone else already provides. Time for a charge I think..
