1 ★After the update the app won't open.
2 ★Kinda clunky and not very good for managing my collection and plays. And filtering in the collection doesn't work very well. E.g. I tried to filter my games by number of players, and I wanted to play with 6. I know that I have a few games that can accommodate 6, but only one showed up, because it requires exact matches in the min or max field. Codenames doesn't show up because it's 2-8, so if you don't have a 2 in the min field or an 8 in the max field, it won't show up.
2 ★I enjoyed the simplicity of the old app so much more. This new version has so much potential (and that is the reason for 2 stars rather than 1), but logging plays and doing other basic stuff that came so naturally and smoothly is so much more clunky than it was before. Until more concerted effort is made to iron out those kinks and get that basic functionality back, please give me the old version back!
4 ★The app works pretty well. I can access the bgg database, read the forums and manage my lists. The app doesn't work well with bad internet and needs to be restarted when entering "good" internet to work with your personal lists but that doesn't bother me. 2 things. I would like to see: - include the search button in the upper right on every page. Searching is what I mostly do with the app so I would love to see a fast access for that. - make the app be able to parse bgg links.
1 ★I've been using the previous Board Game Geek app for years with no major issues. I got a new phone and had to download this version today and I'm very disappointed. 2 major issues: 1 - you can no longer pull up players in the menu. So I can no longer look through the stats of the people that I've played with. The ability to track plays and player stats is what made this app worthwhile. 2 - these ads are ridiculous. They pop up entirely too often, are full screen, and some have sound.
4 ★Good to have the app especially for rules. What's missing is being able to participate in the forums from the app or look at the stats of a game (#owned, etc) from the app
1 ★This is a fantastic app with great features for board game players. Unfortunately, the frequency and absolute obnoxiousness of the ads make it an app i "tolerate" until i find a better one. You shouldn't make your ads so annoying and frequent that you hope the user just gets desperate and pays. It makes the ads not work (I will never support those businesses) and fans resent you.
3 ★Achieves its purpose, and is used often, but is way clunkier than the old app. Several glitches that don't let you save a play, remove names, etc. You can't choose which tier of the wishlist to put a game in, nor sort by wishlist priority. Inputting data is just generally worse; drop downs get in the way, team/color doesn't save options for each game, no rematch feature. Skill analysis is broken, equally in meaning and display of data. Basically, any synchronizing BGG app > this > no app at all.
1 ★My old phone died and I had to install the new app. It's crashed on me 6 times in 10 minutes. I'm unable to log my two games I just played because there is no way to remove the keyboard once in a dialogue box. If you hit back it erases all your typed in info. This app isn't even functional. The old app was ugly, but at least it functioned. Also, super annoying video ads interspersed between navigating? I've never rated any app before because I just don't care, but this one is terrible...oh bgg..
2 ★The old app was much better and more streamlined for logging plays. This version takes me over twice as long to enter players, scores, and winner. There are too many other options for data to enter that I don't care to keep track of.
1 ★Best app for boardgames but DELETES EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME... I took a long time adding alot of our games, rating them etc... Logged into my account as well..I reloaded the app to add more and EVERY GAME IS DELETED! This has happened every single time I've added them back... Fix this issue! I'm sooooo glad I didn't get sucked into buying it! I'm gonna buy the much more reliable other app instead! You just lost a follower!
5 ★I'm loving how this app has all my bgg collection put right into it. It is easy to navigate the app and find any information you're looking for from bgg without having to go to the website. So easy to use on portable devices now.
