1. 상현달까지는 잘 이해 하는데 하현달을 어려워 한다.
- 달을 하현달 위치에 놓고 지구를 180도 자전시켜서 관측자 머리위에 하현달이 오게 하면 된다. 그럼 관측자 오른손 방향이 아니라 왼손방향이 보인다는 것을 알 수 있다.
(시험지에 문제가 나오면 시험지를 거꾸로 돌려 놓고 관찰하라고 가르친다. ^^)
- 아니면 태양과달 버튼을 동시에 선택하고 태양과달을 180도 회전시켜도 된다. 그럼 관측자의 위치는 변하지 않고 태양은 왼쪽으로 달은 머리위로 오게 된다. 이렇게 위치시켜 주면 하현달이 외 왼쪽만 보이는지 쉽게 이해할 수 있다.
2. 달이 뜨거나 지는 시간 관찰
- 원하는 달의 위상을 만들어 놓고 지구를 서에서 동으로 자전시켜 가면서 달이 언제 뜨고 지는지 알아낼 수 있다.
- 달의 모습은 지구의 자전과는 상관이 없다는 것도 깨닫게 되고, 북반구에 사는 사람들은 몇시에 달을 관찰하든 같은 모양의 달을 관찰할 수 있다는 것도 깨달을 수 있다.
*참고로 남반구에서는 상현달과 하현달의 모습이 반대가 된다.
3. 달이 하루에 50분씩 늦게 뜨는 것 설명
- 지구가 1바퀴 자전하는 동안 달도 지구 자전방향으로 하루에 약 13도씩 이동해 간다. 따라서 태양을 기준으로 보면 달은 하루에 50분씩 늦게 뜬다는 것을 알 수 있다.
4. 문제출제
- 문제출제를 눌러 달의 위상을 생각해 보고 자신의 생각이 맞는지 확인해 볼 수 있다. 어렵게 출제를 하면 태양의 위치가 무작위로 배치되어 어렵게 느껴질 수 있다. 이때는 태양과 달을 동시에 회전시켜 태양을 교과서에 나오는대로 동쪽이나 서쪽에 위치시며 놓고 생각하면 쉽다.
