Die kurzweiligen Wanderungen führen in verschiedenste Landschaften und Regionen der ganzen Schweiz.Auf den Streifzügen werden Pflanzen und Lebensräume jeweils mit Fotos und spannenden Hintergrundinformationen präsentiert, wenn sie am Wegrand zu sehen sind. So können die Nutzerinnen und Nutzer der App auf jedem Streifzug im eigenen Tempo die Blumenvielfalt erkunden. Zu jeder Pflanzenart wird Wissenswertes erläutert, beispielsweise zur Namensgebung, zu Strategien beim Anlocken von Bestäubern oder zur medizinischen Verwendung. Im Weiteren werden der Blühzeitpunkt, der Schutz- sowie der Rote-Liste-Status aller Arten aufgeführt.
Insgesamt präsentiert die «Flower Walks»-App über 1100 Pflanzenarten und 77 Lebensräume im ganzen Land – das entspricht einem Viertel aller schweizweit bekannten Pflanzenarten und Lebensräume.
