Swiss Pro Map is the map app for Switzerland and the Alpine region: offline maps and useful functions for outdoor activities such as mountain sports, hiking, cycling and aviation.Maps such as the Swiss National Map, as well as objects on the map, such as hiking trails, public transport stops incl. timetable, SAC huts, parking spaces, location descriptions and much more, once loaded, remain usable offline on the device.
The app supports important functions for outdoor activities such as altitude display, distance and area measurement, search for locations and coordinates, route recording, import and export, offline route planning, etc.
Swiss Pro Map is free for two weeks from installation. After that, a subscription is required for unlimited use:
* The subscription enables unlimited use of the app and finances its maintenance and further development.
* It is valid for one year from the date of purchase.

1 ★Not for practical use
3 ★The only feature of interest to me here (which is not already implemented better in the Switzerland Mobility app) are the ski touring maps. The usability of this app unfortunately has many flaws. The lack of an overview of which areas have been downloaded is a deal-breaker. Until this is fixed, I'll keep using the Switzerland Mobility app and printed ski touring maps instead.
5 ★Together with my smart phone, it replaces a GPS for my outdoor activities.
2 ★super app, tres fonctionnelle...mais gros preobleme de connection avec le compte swiss map moblie..et du coup, plus moyen de profiter des cartes sans repayer 38.- qui sont sensé etre pour un abo de 1an, et que j'ai deja payé il y a 1mois...
3 ★The map material is impressive but that thanks to SwissTopo, not Swiss Map Mobile. The application itself is a nest of frustration as far as usability is concern. A link to the PDF manual (currently hidden on the swisstpo.ch web site) in the app itself would help. A import/export *directly* to file (XOL/GPX/LOC) would really help.
5 ★Detail to 10m contours for 4000m peaks. Useful for planning.

4 ★Could get expensive if you download lots of tiles.
2 ★Beautiful maps, but the app is almost ruined by dumb programming bugs. It crashes frequently. After a crash it needs multiple retries before it restarts cleanly. And some parts of the user interface design are just incomprehensible. Worst of all, it eats INSANE amounts of data because its map caching is totally broken. This afternoon it used 630 MB of data in less than four hours of use for a walk in a small area near the Pilatus, even though I had supposedly "preloaded" the area beforehand. Also it doesn't track your position in real-time, which is disappointing. If the developers ever fix these bugs then this app will be brilliant, well worth paying for, but they'll have to do a lot better than this.

3 ★Maps are of high, Swiss, quality. For the app, I agree with the critics, especially the long in German one, from Christian. The authors should get their act together and deliver value for the money. AND, I haven't figured out how to add the shortcut to my home screen (the app is not listed in my purchased app list).
2 ★Trotz aktuellen Kartenmaterial taugt die App leider nicht zur Navigation im Gelände. Die GPS Ortung dauert unendlich lange und der aktuelle Standort wird auf der Karte nicht markiert. Sobald man die Karte zur Navigation verschiebt geht auch der aktuelle Standort verloren. Eine Markierung der letzten x-Wegpunkte des zurückgelegten Weges wäre ebenfalls hilfreich um festzustellen woher man kommt und wohin man geht. Des Weiteren habe ich noch nicht rausgefunden wie ich GPS-Tracks laden kann, welche sich bereits auf meinem Handy befinden. Eine "Browse"-Funktion um diese zu lokalisieren gibt es nicht. Des weiteren gibt es keine Möglichkeit Farbe, Transparenz und Breite des Tracks anzupassen. Dasselbe gilt für die eingeblendeten Layer. So werden z.B. Mountainbikerouten von SchweizMobil in dunkel Braun (=Schwarz) in ca. 1 Pixel Breite dargestellt und lassen sich somit nicht von der Hintergrundkarte unterscheiden. Zudem schalte ich gerne mal in den Offline-Modus, oder stelle das GPS-Signal auf meinem Handy aus. Die Schnelleinstellungen unter Android lassen sich jedoch nicht aufrufen ohne dass sich die ganze Karte verschiebt und dann hat man schon wieder seinen Standpunkt verloren...
