隨著近年來通訊科技的快速發展，例如：Wi-Fi、3G、4G LTE等，讓使用者能隨時連網並獲取所需的資訊，人們的日常生活已與網路服務有著密不可分的關係。另外，搭配著行動連網裝置的大爆發，改變了以往使用軟體的方式，只要利用身邊的行動裝置，隨時隨地都可以在網路上遨遊。iLecture正是在這股浪潮下所誕生的一款即時反饋與互動服務。
iLecture主要應用於有講者與聽眾的場域（例如：教室、會議、演講廳等），講者可以隨時進行提問、傳送推播訊息，而聽眾可以回答問題、反應目前狀況。互動過程透過資訊視覺化來呈現，並且強調「即時」性，即時推送最新動態，讓使用者能夠輕鬆掌握全盤面貌。
迄今，與iLecture相似的應用必須仰賴能夠存取紅外線的硬體設備（例如：IRS即時反饋系統），但是iLecture卻不需要事前架設硬體設備，只要利用連網裝置連上網路，就可以使用。

iLecture可以發揮的空間隨處可見，以教室課堂上為例，老師在iLecture上提出問題後，學生可以利用各個連網裝置（例如：平板、手機、筆電等）來回答問題，此時，學生對於該問題的回答結果與比例，立即以視覺化的圖表完整呈現在iLecture的介面上，讓老師能立即診斷學生的學習成效，即時調整教學步調；另一方面，學生亦可以即時反應目前的狀況（例如：課程的速度、目前的心情等），經由iLecture的量化與統計，再以視覺化的圖表來呈現，讓老師能夠隨時、科學化地掌握課堂教學的狀態。
儘管iLecture一開始是計對教室課堂上的場景所設計的服務平台，但是其即時反饋與互動的特性，也非常適用於演講或研討會的場景上。講者可以隨時進行提問、傳送推播訊息，而聽眾可以回答問題、反應目前狀況，讓整體的互動性大為提升。此外，講者能夠藉由動態視覺化的結果即時掌握整個會場內的情況，即時調整，提升演講的氣氛與流暢度。
另一方面，iLecture會將每一個問題的相關資訊、每一則推播訊息與每一道反饋的意見，都記錄下來，可供日後進行分析。使用者可以透過分析資料，來找出更好的上課方式或演講模式，精益求精更加進步，讓成就更勝以往。
雖然現在iLecture已臻於完善，但是目標僅止於此，我們希望能夠跳脫網際網路的藩籬，例如：僅利用藍芽或Wi-Fi來進行通信，在完全不需要考慮網路訊號的情況下，打造出各方面都更卓越的iLecture。
