About SpotChat APK
Description
Send songs from your Spotify library and personal messages to your friends. Receive push notifications when they send you something. Earn points when they like what you send them. Enjoy a rich, Material Design inspired interface that includes FABs, flexible space scrolling, sliding tab strips, ripple effects and more. This application is best enjoyed on devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop or higher, but is compatible with devices running Android 4.2 Jellybean and up. I, the developer, am not associated with Spotify in any way other than using their publicly available Android SDK and web API. This application is strictly not-for-profit, and does not attempt to earn money in any way, whether through advertisements or otherwise.
All authentication with Spotify is done through their SDK in a closed manner in which I, the developer, cannot access your details. Your login information for Spotify and/or Facebook is never exposed to myself or my web services.
Music playback is only available to those with access to Spotify Premium. Those with a Spotify Open/Free account will able to send and receive messages, but will not be able to play the tracks associated with them through the app.
This app was a project I've put together in my spare time, so be gentle!

Known issues:
The Spotify Android SDK is currently in beta, meaning that issues may well occur until future updates. It currently requires re-authentication with each opening of the app. Luckily, it will not prompt you for your information if you choose to have the Spotify window remember it.
Some web services unique to this application can occasionally be slow, as they are running on a free servers. Should the application gain traction, I will consider paying for more robust servers. I have attempted to implement "lazy loading" where possible, but in the meantime, please be patient on pages with progress circles that block interaction.
How to install SpotChat APK on Android phone or tablet?
Download SpotChat APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
- Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
- Tap the APK file you downloaded (com.personal.rowan.spotchat-v1.0-ApkClean.apk)
- Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
