Description

If you want to simply read your source code with syntax highlighting, look up snippets or cool solutions on-the-go then Code Peeker is for you!

It's a great little code reader (note: read, NOT an editor) that enhances current coding knowledge by highlighting your past coding expertise.

This app has been selected to be part of the Google Play for Education program and currently used in schools as a teaching aid.

With Code Peeker you can share coding success tricks during a job-interview or meetings. It'll make you look much better than promising "I don't know. Let me get back to you on that one".

Code Peeker will open and highlight any supported code language (and unicode/utf-8) you throw at it.

It'll also:
- Mark the line number
- Provides a built-in file browser (in case your phone doesn't have one)
- Opens from both external SD and internal memory!
- Supports other file browsers

Code Peeker Pro includes:
- Theming capabilities for easy reading
- Access to recently opened files
- Shortcut widgets to quickly open files straight from the home screen
- Ability to map unrecognised file extensions to known syntax formatting
- Search for text within a file

It supports a wide variety of new and old languages such as:
- C/C++ (c, cc, cpp, h, hpp)
- C# (c-sharp, csharp, cs)
- CSS
- Java
- JavaScript (js, jscript)
- PHP
- Python (py)
- Ruby (rails, ror)
- XML (xml, xaml, xslt, html, xhtml)

- ActionScript 3 (as3)
- AppleScript
- Cold Fusion
- Delphi/Pascal
- Diff/patch files
- Erlang
- Groovy
- JavaFX (jfx)
- Perl (pl)
- PowerShell (ps)
- Sass
- Scala
- SQL
- Terminal scripts (bash, shell, sh, rc, conf)
- Visual Basics (vb, vbnet)
- Verilog & System Verilog (v, sv)

If Code Peeker can't recognize the file extension, it'll give you the option to select a format or show the source as plain text (no color highlighting, but at least you still can read it).

Got a feature request or a file that won't highlight properly? Just contact me via email (It's hard to communicate via Play Store comments)

IMPORTANT:
- It is 100% free code viewer.
- No creepy permissions required.
- No secret Internet connectivity required.
- No ads!

If you're happy with it and want to support me, please grab a copy of Code Peeker Pro =)

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

User's Reivew

1 ★Did this ever work? Tried this on two devices with more recent Android than my Nexus 7 and on one of them the app crashes, on the other it fails to open any folders I am trying yo navigate to files. Color me unimpressed.
4 ★Only works with system browser for me, but recent history links dont update. Zoom and pan facility is good and smooth.
1 ★Can't open the file I need open. Also, a pretty pointless app now there there are some pretty solid full fledged ide's out on the play store.
2 ★Limited file loading abilities. Syntax highlight (and sometimes the whole app) does not work offline. Horizontal scroll also moves the line numbers.
5 ★Works great with Powershell scripts!
5 ★Could be improved a lot but 5 stars for being the fastest out there
4 ★A. I'd love a Sublime Text style layout to quickly navigate between project files. B. Option to wrap lines to match view port size, so there's no need to scroll horizontally. C. Option to search for a string/ line of text throughout the project. D. Shortcut to look for the other instances of selected text in the opened file like (Ctrl + K) in eclipse.
4 ★For a beginner, inspired by the activities of a developers world. Convert all the 'mumbo-jumbo' into form you undrstand.
5 ★Very clean and reliable. A must-have for every developer
4 ★Great app, developer is very responsive. Wish there was more integration with ownCloud, Dropbox and Google Drive to open files. Possibly even git? As it is, it sort of sits there on its own without any integration.
