Description

Radiolab is a show about wonder, curiosity and big ideas. Hailed by critics as “best radio show,” Radiolab presents a potent elixir of science and philosophy, first-person storytelling and radio theatre, all woven together with the most innovative sound design to ever spill out of the radio. Hosted by Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich and produced by WNYC, the show is heard on more than 300 public radio stations around the country.

The Radiolab app is all about curiosity, too. More than just a companion to the broadcast, the app is an extension of the Radiolab experience and its spirit of exploration, possibility and play.

By downloading the Radiolab app, you can…

· Listen to every podcast of the show from the very beginning to the latest release.

· Make your own audio effects, text and photos based on specific requests from Jad and Robert and upload them via Soundcloud.

· Read blogs and updates from the show.

· Share podcasts via email, Facebook and Twitter.

· Receive push notifications of news, new episodes and Radiolab events.

· And Access all of the above through a truly unique user experience that’s not just about navigation, but exploration.

The Radiolab app was produced by WNYC, developed by PRX and designed by 1 Trick Pony.

Your purchase of the app will help fund the production of Radiolab. Enjoy!

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★Y'all are making a very enjoyable Podcast very unenjoyable to use. It's superfluously clunky. You're opting for an interactive experience that's best reserved for a PC; it's all about simplicity and clarity for us mobile users. Please. Fix this. For the love of God. For the love of Radiolab. Love, Bails xxx
1 ★I love love love radiolab but this app is terrible. The interface complicated, but what's worse is that it continues running until you manually stop the app. It's very frustrating. It's disappointing that the creators of such an ingenious podcast can't manage to make an app that does it justice.
2 ★Why do all the great public radio shows have crappy apps? You'd think public radio would have access to all the great IT geeks, but apparently not. Lots of the other quirks are mentioned below, so I'll just highlight one of the most annoying ones. There's no way to close the app when you're done listening. Just need a little X, y'all. It can't be that difficult....
2 ★One would think that having to pay for app would mean you'd get a well functioning app. However playback of some of the downloaded episodes is choppy - the app sometimes skips parts and sometimes replays parts. Please work on the bugs.
1 ★I do not understand why they went with this sort of interface. Every time that I attempt to scroll down to listen it gets stuck on create. I just wanted to download some podcasts apparently that's too much to ask for.
2 ★The Make section scripts do not show up on my GS7edge. I am going to try on my GS5. The podcast works fine but seems pointless to have the app. I'll just go back to listening through Stitcher. I thought it would be cool to record some audio for you guys but the app is prohibitive of that.
2 ★The user interface is horrible. They need to scrap the fancy page and make it more functional. Navigating to your downloads is a hassle. You're not even sure it's downloading. I'm so disappointed. This American Life app is designed great gives summaries and works perfectly.
2 ★I love Radiolab and was looking for an easier way to search episodes and listen on my device. The app is ok but has a lot of bugs and crashes. Searching never brings back any results other than the original list when you hit the listen button.
2 ★Super excited to listen to RL on a road trip, but I can't even navigate to downloads! I'm not even sure if things are downloading. Please change this confusing interface.
1 ★The app switches tracks mid play constantly. I love the show, but seriously... If you can't even play an audio file, why did you spend all the effort on cutsie things?
1 ★Amazing show, terrible app. Hard to use, freezes and crashes often, difficult to scroll through episode lists. Why do you do this to us Jad? (I know it's not Roberts fault, he probably doesn't even fully understand what an app is! [just kidding I love you Robert!])
2 ★Top shelf content, but on a remainders bin app. Frequently locks up, repeats or skips randomly, an exercise in frustration. Is it a cruel experiment, guys? To put something so awesome just ever so out of reach?
