On Android 4.1 and 4.2, ROOT is required for those mark with asterisk *. After grant the ROOT permission, you need to restart Light Manager for changes to take effect. However ROOT is not required anymore from Android 4.3 onwards. You need to enable the Notification Access for Light Manager at Setting > Security > Notification Access > Light Manager.
There are three operating modes:
1) Normal Mode - Only LED color for the first notification will be flashing
2) Alternating Mode - A few LED colors will be flashing alternately when multiple notifications are received
3) Screen Mode - Notifications alert will be shown on screen (For those devices without a physical notification LED, only available for Android 4.3 and above)
You may go to the test section to test whether this app works for your device.
For Samsung devices:
- Device's screen needs to be turned off in order for the notification LED to work
- You need to go to Setting > Display > LED indicator and enable "Notifications" in order for this application to work

3 ★Doesn't work on my LG V30. I'm using "screen mode" because I don't have anotification LED. I can't fingerprint unlock my phone when there is a LightManager notification on the screen. Please fix if possible. *Edit* TheAugust 5, 2018 update added the fingerprint permission. Before, nothinghappened when I tried to use the fingerprint sensor. Now, the fingerprintsensor wakes up the phone and shows the lockscreen. I still need to placemy finger on the sensor a second time to actually unlock my phone. It'sbetter but still not ideal. Having to scan my fingerprint twice to unlockis a bit of a pain.
5 ★LG G7 ThinQ - is working in alternating mode and cycling colors. had tochange hangouts from green bc it seemed to get stuck there. I enable missedcall, hangouts, SMS/MMS. what I don't like is that it is taking 3-4 secondsbetween colors and is always blinking. any fix for either of those?RESPONSE: interval of change 1 second RESPONSE: I'm just glad it cyclesthru the colors now. It definitely works better on pure Android.
5 ★Having trouble getting the battery charging/charged LED to not come on if Do Not Disturb is enabled. Worked perfectly on my S7 Edge running Nougat, but doesn't work on the same phone running Oro (8.0) EDIT: Got it working. I had to set my DND mode to "Custom". I had it on Alarms Only and it wouldn't work.
3 ★LMPro is just adequate falling short of its promise. Two areas are problematic: A) The flash rate is correct only when opting for a 3 second interval OR no interval at all (that is, an unblinking LED) Opting for a quicker pulse is not possible for me; Light Manager Pro doesn't respond. And B) despite menu options one is effectively restricted to four or five LED colours. For instance, many custom colors, pink, purple, cyan, etc. actually display as red. Phone: Blackberry Motion; OS: Android 7.1.2
5 ★Great app! This allows my new S9 to work like my old S5 did, with different colors for different notifications, and even adds more features too! Does run in background but used 0% battery after an entire day so no problem there.
