His real name was Syed Ahmed Shah (1898 – 1958). He is famously known as Patras Bukhari. He was a educationist, writer, broadcaster and a top level diplomat who served Pakistan as the first Permanent Representative of Pakistan to United Nations. Despite all these contributions and successes, Patras still now enjoys as one of the best Urdu humorists of all times. His collection of essays “Patras Kay Mazameen” undoubtly is considered masterpiece in Urdu Literature. Though it was written in the first half of twentieth century, it is very much seems to be relevant as of today.His preface is very entertaining and the reader cannot help smiling.
