3 ★It's okay. The app itself is great, when it works. I can't always get it to connect to my tv, causing me to have to restart my firestick, sometimes multiple times. My biggest gripe is the fast forwarding and rewinding. You can only skip by 10 seconds at a time, which is great when you want to just hear a joke over again, but you can't hold it down and fast forward. Which makes pausing a pain because as soon as the screen saver comes on, you've lost your spot. Also, no closed captions?
1 ★We've had vidangel for a year and loved it before the update. Since the update, my kids can't watch anything unless I'm there with my phone. The whole purpose of having vidangel was so that my teens could watch whatever they wanted to watch without all the sex, violance, and profanity. And it's too complicated to connect and doesn't always work. Its a really great concept, but the new update unfortunatley makes it pretty much useless for our family.
5 ★This update is absolutely amazing! The app looks way better and I like how you guys are doing it differently with the account logins for Amazon and Netflix. I assume this was to remedy some communication issues between them and Vidangel. I just have a couple things to question/suggest. One, how can I reach my watch list now? I am not seeing it anywhere. Also, I personally liked the fact that the home page had a continue watching section and I think that is gone. I love you guys and appreciate it
1 ★A year ago when we first got the VidAngel Service it was amazing. Everything worked wonderfully! Then, they began having connection issues with some of the streaming services. Rather than address those issues they have chosen to create a new mobile app which does not work well at all. It crashes, will not connect to Netflix, will not retain your viewing history, and is very buggy. I have worked with technical support to no avail and am going to have to cancel the service because it doesn't work
1 ★The new update is TERRIBLE. Everyone in my family signed up when they first launched, but we are all thinking of leaving now. There is no way to access your watchlist, some of the filters get cutoff halfway through, and you can't search by genre. 90% of the reason I subscribed is to watch horror movies. Now I can only find them through a crappy search option that isn't clear on if I even have access to the movie. Please for the love of all that is good and holy, CHANGE IT BACK!!!!!
1 ★I can't get the new app to cast to any of my TVs, or recognize my roku, even after a difficult week with customer service, repeating the same steps over and over and expecting the glitchy app to suddenly work. Since the release of the new app, watching Amazon through Vidangel on the web or Roku doesn't work. I wished they'd give people the option to opt out of the app or roll back until they've fixed all the bugs. I'm surprised this new app passed Beta phase.
1 ★Never have I ever thought, hey, wouldn't it be cool if I was forced to use my phone to watch TV? Before everything was simple. On Roku I could tweak filters, I can't tweak filters on the app. This is important because you frequently will list something like a bloody nose as graphic. I might be ok with a bloody nose, but I don't want to see someone bludgeoned to death. The app gives me no options and makes me jump through hoops. I just want to turn on my TV and stream. Simple.
2 ★Idea is good but I had to cancel. There has been too many times where I've been browsing prime or Netflix, looking for something to watch. Then if I find something, surprise!! it isn't on vidangle. Then the process starts over again. One night I actually found something to watch and nearly the end of the movie, it quit streaming....and no, it wasn't my internet connection. So tell me, if I can't find anything to watch, and the streaming process is very hit and miss, what is the point?
3 ★Was great until the update. It's awful. Lots of glitches, freezes and extra hoops to jump through. It doesnt remember where you left off.. Not to mention that you can no longer download the app onto your smart tv. It solely relies on casting from your phone now which is a HUGE step Backward.. I'm bumping it up to 3 stars because I do VALUE the service so much. I would pay more a month for the service to get a better app that is downloadable on smart tv and without glitches
5 ★Super easy to install and connect to my Prime account. I love not having to hear blasphemy in movies nor see vulgar scenes in shows. The Vidangel mindset makes so much sense; directors are free to add whatever they want to their movies or TV shows, and with Vidangel I'm free to remove what I find offensive as I watch popular media from my home. Thanks a ton Vidangel! I tell everyone about you!
3 ★I love it, I really do! I just need better stream quality from them. It's so grainy when streaming back to me. I never have any issues with streaming with Netflix or Amazon, 1080p and 4K when available, but with VidAngel the quality is lessened. I will call my representatives. I've even continued to pay for the service while not using it for months at a time just to support the cause. I'm passionate about Vid Angel, but I'm also a videophile and I need my stuff to be crisp and clear, so please work on that.
5 ★This app has been great for our family. We are able to watch things in our home that we never would before. I no longer have to hold tight to the remote to possibly skip a scene that may or may not happen when my whole family is watching a show or movie with our young ones. For example, "Man in the Hish Castle" a great show that has 2 or 3 brief nude scenes that add nothing to the show, we can watch that without those and it takes nothing away from the experience and we get to enjoy a great show we normally would not.
