Ilkeliani Masai Mara Birding ApplicationThe Ilkeliani Masai Mara Birding App is an initiative of the Ilkeliani Camp with the aim of popularising birdwatching in and around the Maasai Mara Game Reserve (also know as the Maasai Mara, the Masai Mara or just the Mara) of Kenya. The area is more typically known for hosting the annual wildebeest migration and an array of other African wildlife including one of the highest predator densities on earth. Unfortunately this means that the incredible birdlife is often overlooked and this app wants to champion birdwatching amongst visitors and locals alike.
The eco-friendly Ilkeliani Luxury Tented Camp is located on the banks of the Talek River, overlooking the savannah plains of the Mara. It has been designed to combine the old traditional safari style with a modern and fresh feel. The camp is 4 km from the Talek Gate and centrally positioned to explore the game reserve. The camp is surrounded by excellent birding habitat.
The Ilkeliani Masai Mara Birding App gives birdwatchers and nature lovers visiting the Masai Mara reserve in Kenya the ability to actively record and share their bird sightings and experiences on safari.
The app includes great photographs of the 567 birds of the greater Masai Mara area and also provides localised information and where to see tips for each of these species. The app also lets you view the location of all sightings recorded by other birders in order to help you track down that elusive bird you always wanted to see.
