1 ★Garbage and a Scam. Don't download the app because you don't need it. The 50$ hub wont even create a wifi connection like it's supposed to, if you can return every product they have do it and save yourself the trouble. We got screwed over by Lowes and bought it from one going out of business, now we have a light show, the hub showing a disconnected light flashing.
5 ★I read all the reviews prior to purchasing the Hub but figured I had nothing to lose in trying on my own. I connected on my first try and it works flawlessly. Galaxy S8 running with the most recent update. I'm not much of a computer guy, but has anyone loosened up the security a little in their router settings to allow this to connect with ease?
5 ★Not sure what's going on with other peoples, but I installed this and it works great! Love the timer and song selection features. Bought it after Halloween, but just in time to set it up and use the Independence Day theme for Veterans Day, set the Thanksgiving theme, and are now onto Christmas! Looking forward to adding more to it each holiday! Hopefully they come out with some preprogrammed Halloween music.
4 ★Have patience with connectivity! I had so many things going wrong last night that I gave up, I don't know if it was my Wi-Fi or just the rain getting into the a.c. outlets! Anyways I gave it another try today and got the hub to blue light., finally got connection and I'm so happy, so just have patience and keep trying! I opened hub and looked at small wire antenna, I think I'll solder a longer wire antenna in there for next year that will help with the connection! Otherwise new songs be 😀
1 ★This app sucks as does the hub it connects to. Poor programming, poor hardware. The setup skips steps leaving you no way to control your VERY expensive lights. The setup sheet tells you to call their 800# before returning to the store. I called. Automated response said to call between 830a and 7p Central. It WAS that time. What they mean to say is that they don't work weekends when most people are setting up their product. Awful product and Lowes should be ashamed to carry it. STAY AWAY!!!
3 ★Revising my review yet again... again(Oct '19). While the issues with connecting to the hub seem to be resolved. The hub still has issues connecting to the lights at times and lights are still losing their memory and defaulting to a random lightshow. Support has been extremely responsive, going so far as to work issue by issue with their dev team and providing updates. The lights themselves are top notch and I’m optimistic that the software will be fixed. I still think the app could be significantly better but when it works it’s amazing.
1 ★All setting are not saved. Timer works at first time but when you restart app all setting went to factory setting. Also app restarting caused LED light on regardless timer setting. Hub works ok but app is Useless. No manual on/off from app or led light itself. You may need another smart plug to control it. Poor Lowe store is closing. They made for Lowe this bad product. New version updated today but same issue. From app, you don't tell whether hub is connected or not either. Just 0.1 second flick on screen tells hub is connected msg.
3 ★The lights are awesome and I plan to buy the speaker so my people can hear the music. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the app and the hub. If I want to change a setting I have to reconnect to the hub by resetting everything, even if I just want to turn them on before the timer. If this issues gets resolved these would be a great buy.
4 ★Out of the box.. the unit has issues. The hub's antenna is a mere 1" long, and doesnt reach some.atrings that are less than 30' away. A fix we found, was to solder a Longer antenna. This allowed lights over 80' away to be seen and controlled. This voids the warranty.. but gemmy discontinued the product, so that wont cause.issue.
3 ★App works great for my current setup, (which is two light Show Boxes with speakers) I just wished there were more pre selected songs or the ability to run music from an online streaming service such as Pandora or Spotify directly without having to connect my phone to the Showbox via Bluetooth Gemmy, please add these features and I'll increase my rating
1 ★App is trash on multiple devices I try to load it on. Just loads into a black or white screen and freezes the device. I paid a lot of money for this hardware only for the software to be garbage and be the roadblock to getting the orchestra of lights experience. If I could give a more colorful and negative review I would.
4 ★The last couple of updates have seemed to fix the hub connectivity issues. The range of the hub is very weak. Well being the redneck I am I got curious and opened the hub up to see how I could Tim taylor this thing and come to find out the antenna for the lights is only about 1 inch long. So after using a soldering iron and removing the factory antenna I installed about a 7 foot antenna in this thing and now it works from my neighbors house. Just a plain 18 gauge wire is all you need. Enjoy.
