Yeşil Valiz Sorumlu Turizm Derneği; tarihine, doğasına, kültürüne sahip çıkmak isteyen bir avuç gönüllüden oluşur. Her geçen gün sayısı artan bu gönüllülerin amacı, yerel kültürü bozulmadan ve yerli halkın kalkınmasına destek olacak bir şekilde turizmin odak noktası yapmaktır.Dernek, 2002 Cape Town Deklarasyonunda kabul edilmiş sorumlu turizm prensiplerini Türkiye’de yaygınlaştırmayı hedeflemektedir. Toplum temelli turizm projeleriyle kırsalda kadın istihdamını arttırmak, doğaya saygılı alternative turizm uygulamalarını özendirmek, kollektif belleğin somut ifadesi olan kültürel mirasın ulusal ve uluslararası barışa hizmet edecek şekilde yorumlanmasını sağlamak amaçlı faaliyetler düzenlemek için çalışır.
36 Üyesi ve 200’den fazla gönüllü çalışanı ile Yeşil Valiz, ICRT (International Centre for Responsible Tourism) ve Equality in Tourism sivil toplum örgütlerinin Türkiye temsilcisi olarak geniş bir uluslararası ağın parçasıdır.
