- Tahmin edebileceğiniz gibi "Qult" diye bir kelime aslında yok. Daha çok sinema filmleri veya kitaplar için çokça kullandığımız "Kült Olmuş Film/Kitap" kalıbından yola çıkarak türettiğimiz bir kelime "Qult". "Kült" sözcüğü Türkçe'ye Fransızca culte'den gelir. Sözcüklerin temel kökü ise Latince cultus yani "tapınma"dır.
Her ne kadar kült genellikle din anlamında ele alınsa veya belirtildiği gibi dini bir grup olarak tanımlansa da, dini öğeler içermek zorunda değildir.
Günlük hayatta kullanılışı
* Herhangi bir konuda bilgi kaynağı oluşturabilecek edebi eserlere verilen ad olarak da kullanılmaktadır.
* Özellikle sinemada, anlatım tarzında türünün tek örneği olan eserler için kullanılmaktadır
