Description

This is the experimental version of the OPPO Media Control app for BDP-93/95 Blu-ray players. In addition to being used as a remote control, this app can navigate locally-attached and network-shared media files and control their playback.

Requires OPPO BDP-93 or BDP-95 Blu-ray Disc player with firmware version BDP9x-74-0908 or above.

This app is not compatible with the BDP-10x players. BDP-10x users should download the "OPPO Remote Control" app instead. A media control app for the BDP-10x is in development and will be available soon.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★I installed this app turned on my Oppo and within 5 seconds it found my Oppo and I was playing music off of my network. This app words perfect. Like another reviewer said this app works faster than the remote that came with my Oppo.
1 ★Can't find my 93 while my Yamaha AVR works well. Test on S3 and Nexus10.
1 ★Updated to v1.0.6 and now it won't find my BDP-95 player. If you have a BDP-95, do not update to this version! This was a great app too.
4 ★It works.
5 ★This is the app I was hoping for when I downloaded the remote only version. There's some minor issues (alphabetical sorting doesn't fully work), but man is it nice to control the attached media this way. Makes a great player even better.
4 ★My Oppo is connected to my LAN. My lan includes a server with all my music and videos. This app makes is extremely convenient to listen to my digital music collection w/o having to fire up the projector. Even for navigating pictures or home videos, using the app is quicker than the menu structure directly on the oppo. DNLA rocks and Oppo brings a fantastic way to leverage their great hardware (DACs) to enjoy your own content. Oppo just needs to add a way to have the same control, via Android/iOs for Pandora streaming. Even better, similar control for the whole streaming menu. It will be much easier to use a hand held to search, select and play nextflix content for example. Before this app came about, I was using the Remote App in my iOs devices to stream sound to my AppleTV. I avoided having to fire up the projector, but it required iTunes permanently running in the server or another computer. And the way apple needs you to manually add new content to the iTunes library is extremely primitive and a hassle. With a DNLA server, I just download the music, movies or pictures to the designated folders and it shows up in my DNLA clients within seconds.
3 ★Does everything the remote does and with no problem of line of site issue that oppo remotes/ receiver seem to continue to have. One big problem unless I missed something is when the player is powered off this app is useless. I did a quick look through player setup and didn't see a setting that can be changed.
2 ★looks good but does not connect to my BDP-103. any new version planned soon? The remote app does work, but is not sufficient to manage without the TV on...
4 ★There is really no reason to own a media PC now. Superb audio quality with an interface that is no longer remote control bound. I have been waiting for this product since the BDP-95 released. Fast interface and no problems so far!
4 ★Good app. I would like to offer the following suggestions: 1. Return to proper place in lists. When you are scrolling in a particular list (album list, etc) and you open a specific sub-list (say an album) when you return to the main list the app should return you to the point in the main list that you were just at, and not back to the beginning of the list. Please change this. 2. More caching. The app can be slow at times. 3. Tablet support. You should rescale graphics and the list elements when the app is running on a tablet (7” or 10” form factor). On a tablet form factor the buttons are unnecessarily small and a lot of space is wasted. 4. Alphabetizing does not work well. Album lists (and others) are not alphabetized correctly. For example, albums with the tiles “The Greatest Hits” or “The Best of” are both placed under “T”. 5. Playlist construction. It would be nice to have the option of creating and saving playlists from within the app. 6. Cover art. Add the option to locally cache (on the android device) and display cover art. This would be a great addition if it could be done without slowing down the app too much.
3 ★I am excited about the app. This was needed to make oppo usable as a media player. So excellent initiative by oppo. However, the app needs to have more usable features like searching by genre, artists etc. Also there is no way to create a playlist. We also need an ability to queue songs. This is when playing music from usb drive. Over all very happy but waiting it to get as usabale as an appletv 1st gen.
3 ★Seems to work well. Much easier (and faster) to navigate large lists of movies on a tablet than on the TV. It does get a bit flaky when trying to pause/resume, especially if the screensaver is active (sometimes audio will resume, but the screensaver will stay on). An update will be nice, as the application has potential.
