3 ★I've been having a similar problem as other people. On one book I used points to skip the 5 hour timer then the next few days the timer increased to 7-8 hours, then 16 hours, then today it changed to 24 hours! The timer being increased, in my opinion, is pretty ridiculous. I would understand it increasing to 7-8 hours but anymore than that is insane. Other than that, the app is pretty good! The storylines are good and interesting even if each chapter only takes about 4 minutes total to read.
3 ★It's good so far but I feel iffy about the point system and the way some books/chapters are unable to read unless you subscribe about $76 yearly w/tax. I get that it's a way to support the writers and the people behind the app but idk about the price point, I can't afford that. I wish there was a cheaper way to access it without going to the yearly end. Maybe there can be a chapter option for a week and monthly plan for people who want to support but don't feel like paying for a whole year.
2 ★For as much as I paid for the yearly subscription I'm really surprised about the laggyness of the app. Books I've been reading or listening to take forever to open or I have to close the app & start over. I opened one book I had been reading only for it to be the text from another book I had in my library. (I know I clicked on the right one, the title said so & I opened & closed it several times to still have the same problem.) Paid way too much for those kinds of problems.
3 ★Galatea is an awesome app with interactive stories in different genres. You get to make choices that affect the plot, which makes it super exciting. The writing is top-notch, and the characters are well-developed. The app is easy to use, and the interface looks great. They even have audio options with voice actors! There's a wide variety of stories to choose from.
3 ★I want to give Galatea more stars, but the 6-hour wait time between chapters and that some books force you into a subscription aren't cool. Not everyone can afford the subscription, and not everyone is interested in a subscription. I use the ads to get in an extra chapter or two depending on the story. If the last series I read was available as physical books or on a cheaper platform, I might have dumped this app but the stories I've read are good and you get into the characters.
3 ★So far great...I wish that we could watch ads for the chapters instead of spending the little amount of points that yall give us...other than that I love the selection of books!!!! Thanks!!!.......okay so I am updating me review and honestly yall need to give out some more points...or take it off of the free book list and say before people download your app that it's got cost and be slow going u less you got money for coins.!!!!! I mean damn would it kill yall to give a few extra coins ???
3 ★I loaded this app to try it out. I read a lot. However, I find that quality is in the details. The ap has continuous glitches and needs constant upgrades. I feel as a user, I'm having to constantly nurse it through instead of just being able to enjoy it. Also many of the books I've read have been very PG. This is disappointing to a mature reader. Many of the others have been very bland with blatantly obvious plots with no twists. I'm disappointed in the quality of books, they lack enthusiasm.
5 ★I love the selection of books so far, really good. But the options to earn points are limited, so you either have to pay or wait. Which if you have the time isn't bad. But it can be a while before you get through a book then. But overall great books to choose from. It would be worth it to pay for the yearly subscription which I'm thinking considering. I'm update my review if I do and let you know the benefits.
1 ★I think you should offer monthly subscription, not just a yearly one. I do like the idea of unlimited reads and offline reading. Im not a fan of the points going up per chapter,please fix that. Overall i think the app has potential to be very good if it wasnt so expensive. Oh and to be able to chat with the characters should also be included with the subscription you're already buying, sheesh too much money to even enjoy it.
3 ★I love this app the stories are great and they keep you wanting more. Once you begin reading it's hard to stop. My only issue is when you are reading the free books, after that time is over they want you to pay 40 coins just to save what you've read if you don't and you wish to complete the book you will have to start over and PAY FOR EACH chapter.
1 ★***Edited to add: They promised "points" in exhange for a review, have submitted a screen shot twice with no payout.*** 4/5 Decent reads. Do Like: can unlock chapters for free after wait, can get free points to unlock chapters, some books have immersive sounds which is interesting Don't Like: continuous pushing of yearly subscription, the wait to unlock chapters should be shorter if the chapters/pages are shorter, more ways to gain free points, monthly option instead of just yearly
2 ★Revised: Wasn't happy with one chap/6hrs. But stories have been good, so I stuck with the app. After a few books, wait times increased. The free read doesn't save all your progress and it was a 26 hr wait for 1 chap. Other books went from 6 to 12 to 18 hrs all during 1 book. I thought about just buying, but not all authors are up to par. Had a few good reads, but just not worth it for me. Waiting 26 hours for 3-4 minute chapters is kinda ridiculous. They really need to adjust something.
