The calendar system of the traditional Igbo people of Nigeria. Description of Igbo traditional season, days and traditional culture. The calendar system of the Igbo`s has 13 months in a year (called Afo), 7 weeks in a month ( Called Onwa) and 4 days in a week (called izu)The days of the week are traditionally Igbo market days functioning across different regions of Igbo land. The days are sequential in order as Eke, Orie, Afo, Nwko.
This calendar combines the Igbo calendar system along side the Gregorian calendar for easy usage by users.
A special dedication to Isiobiukwu Gedegwum Ancient palace of the Orlu people, Imo State. By C. Y. Olumba.
