Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

2 ★I think this app gets a bad rep as the combination of it and the lock it's interfacing with is awful. I had massive issues and only got it working after a factory reset of the lock. I still have issues adding tags and the method of unlocking the door is slow in my mind's a bit over complex. A suggestion would be to use the NFC in your phone to unlock the door, as the tags perform much better than the app for unlocking the door.
1 ★Aweful. So buggy in various parts from time to time. I use smartthings via the zwave module, that works fine (so i can unlock the 2 doors reliably) BUT i cannot re-add one of the locks to the Yale app after having to factory reset the lock. The support has been basically been "turn your phone / bluetooth on and off again, wait and try again" before saying there is an issue with the iOS app. i replied saying I'm on Android..... silence since. not exactly helpful.
1 ★On only the second login I get repeated "Invalid Login" messages. Even changed password and still receiving same message. Consequently I can not open the door with bluetooth or add extra key tags I just had delivered. Pretty shambolic all in all. Made for a laughable demo to my parents. 😭😤 Last app release date indicates development has stopped, which does not bode well for the many problems mentioned in other reviews. Yale your test engineers should be embarrassed. Hardware seems OK though.
1 ★Just unreliable. After a short while the app refuses to talk to the door lock which makes it impossible to add key fobs etc. The only way that I have managed to make any progress is to add the same lock under a different name but that only worked for two more fobs. The History part only works for the mobile phone keys, not the fobs. Really frustrating and annoying, already wishing I'd stuck to a mechanical lock.
3 ★Although a poor and dated UI/UX experience. The app appears to work fine. I can manage my keys and tags/cards all well. My only issue is the history feature does not seem to show anything. Would be nice if this worked. I think Yale should get someone to do a better app. (This is coming from an experience app developer)
1 ★This is app is probably worst thing I have seen provided by an otherwise reputable company. I purchased some additional tags and I cannot pair them to my lock as the phone will not complete the installation it just opens the door instead. I went ahead and deleted all locks form my phone so I can repair after a new install and now it won't even pair with my phone. I have given the master lock to our builder so I won't be able to come back home and have to take a day of just for this. The online support is non existent and the phone lines are only open when I am in the office. Absolute rubbish product with rubbish support. If you put something like this on the market you should be behind it 24/7 and make sure it works. There is 0 solution for out of hours at least with a normal key I could get a locksmith.
1 ★While adding tags is easy, there are some serious flaws. the app does not report the battery level and I cannot get the app to set notifications. if I set them up and save the changes, notifications are disabled again meaning I don't get low battery warnings. I suggest everyone keeps a 9v battery handy in case the lock batteries go flat since the app won't give you any heads up.
2 ★The app is generally ok to use but not great. The worst thing is not being able to edit a shared key. Such as changing the allowed dates or times or changing the key to always or restricted. I've already lost 2 keys due to changes for the same person I've shared key with. Think that's a very big poor oversite. I'm using mine linked in with the yale alarm so syncing back and forth the updates should not be a problem....
1 ★The lock has been fantastic! And has saved the day. So why 1 🌟? Changed my phone from a note 8 to a Moto G8. Had the same issues everyone here is stating. The app was fine and dandy. But just wasted so much time trying to get the keys to transfer to new phone and see history and user keys. I will post a video in you tube of this FAILED APP. Note I have Samsung smart things card keys back working. Engineer has been called lucky I got professional install. Batteries have lasted ages. Appisnot.
1 ★too bad I can't give it zero stars. is a non starter with zero support (ie no acknowledgement or feedback on the error) from Yale despite telling me to mail with the issue. App doesn't accept my password despite resetting it and the site accepting the new password input. So app is totally useless. I don't even get to encounter the problems other users have, I don't get far enough! will be returning the lock and get one from a more reliable supplier
4 ★Error message 'Invalid Login' everytime from today, even though password is 100% correct. Even reset my password several times. Worked fine until now. Wasted hours of my time and none of the key holders can get in the house! Incredibly poor show for something so critically important. Very angry, cant find a support number to call, assuming I now need to get the lock changed????? Update - developer's fixed the issues. Worrying that it could happen. Updated to four stars whilst working!
1 ★App just doesn't seem to work on Android (Samsung Galaxy S10 5G). Unable to add lock - lock appears offline- constantly received. Uninstalled app and reinstalled no difference. Followed online troubleshooting and reset lock to factory settings and tried again, No difference. Very poor experience from a company such as Yale, with a selling point for the lock being mobile app utility.
