3 ★Excellent for planning our day, but wish we could add group dinner plans to my schedule. Helpful for learning about each day's events & dining venue details. Also, the communication feature requires internet access to work, so it's useless during the times when the ship's internet access is bad. The app (and the ship) should allow communication within the ship for passengers to communicate. Otherwise we're better off just using WhatsApp, since it doesn't provide any additional capabilities.
2 ★Doesn't include spa appointments, doesn't consistently keep accurate ship time when they're multiple times zones, doesn't consistently display both calendar date AND cruise day. It's really frustrating to have to triangulate data with paperwork, phone, clock, and calendar. It's NOT a super app. It's good for checking in and the deck maps. It does include your booked excursions and restaurant reservations. Meh.
3 ★Okay as a deck map and general guide to the facilities, not much else. Do not rely on the chat feature. It is unreliable and has no option for audible/vibrate alert. "Ship Time" will not update when crossing time zones. So, you're left in doubt +/- an hour when the app says a venue is open or about to close. Activities selection os not in sync with the rest of the system. Book from the app at your own risk.
1 ★App is not useful. I've been trying to check in for weeks now and the app keeps saying I have to wait two more days, two more days...just keeps pushing the date to no avail. Also, app calendar never shows any events or excursions I've booked; this happened on past cruises and future bookings. Notifications leave an active icon up in the alerts bar but no useful notices ever show up. There's just no point, I really tried to give it a chance for months now. Going to uninstall it. S9 Note
1 ★It's ok for ship's floorplans and for menus, but: the display of ship time did not change to reflect time zone changes, you cannot manually add your own events to your calendar (e.g. meet friends for drinks at pool), the iPad version had a "reserve now" button on specialty restaurant listings but the Android version did not, summary of charges was always wrong until you opened folio details, sometimes a dining button appeared on the main screen while other times it was missing. Buggy.
3 ★Was thrilled when I first accessed the app - allowed for planning, booking events, etc, not to mention being able to use for various things on the ship. But lately, app has been glitchy. Most of the time when trying to log into the app, it will accept name/password, then load (the "X" screen) and then ... do nothing. Have un-installed/re-installed multiple times, cleared cache, etc - still not working properly. Unreliable accessiblity to app.
3 ★What works well: Using the app to check in for boarding. Using the app as a ship map. What does not work consistantly: All other functions. Lots of timing out and freezing. Good concept. Current execution does not live up to the promise as of current cruise on Equinox. Edit: The app started working better on day 3. The schedule started populating. Messaging started working. With the messaging all involved have to have the app up and not minimized in order to show on line and recieve alerts.
4 ★it was convenient to have during the cruise to see what activities and such were going on. However, the schedule wasn't always updated. There was also no easy way to have it retain the filtering preferences nor did it default to the time of day. Finally, it would be a great improvement if the app had a messaging feature so that parties cruising together could coordinate whereabouts.
4 ★Great app, very useful! One major piece of feedback - integrate spa appointments into the My Calendar section so all events, treatments, and excursions are in one place. It's annoying to have to keep track of them separately, either in my phone's calendar or via the little piece of paper they print out. I love that you can control the stateroom lights, tv, and temperature all from the app! And, even months ahead, you can see what the menus will be at the various restaurants.
2 ★Aboard the Solstice, this app had more potential than actual use. Pre-board, while not completely intuitive, it served it's purpose for boarding pass and safety videos. Once on board, all 4 in my group had issues accessing it. At one point, it would not get past the Accept Terms and Conditions page. We gave up and didn't end up using it after the first day.
4 ★I keep getting directed to "Update My App" but the latest update is installed. Reboot, uninstall/reinstall and all variations thereof are ineffective. It still thinks I need to install an update. 4/16 Update: The developers' changes solved the problem, and I was able to log in successfully. I see my planned trip and all the details associated with it. I've changed my rating from two to four stars accordingly.
2 ★Frustrating The app has a built in chat to keep in contact with other party members. The problem is the lag in the system I would get messages an hour or so at times after sent. The other issue on my phone is you can add events to your calendar in the app to remind you of upcoming events. We'll when the reminder pops up on the app you can't clear it. The big "X" did not function and the app was locked up. I would have to close the app and re open it and try to hit the function I want.
