Follow the Nature Detectives Family Trail and help Blue and Belle, the woodland fairies, save the precious bluebell woods from Big Old Foot, the clumsy giant. Complete the trail and claim your Nature Detectives activity pack to continue the fun at home.
Follow a ready-made trail at more than 20 Woodland Trust woods across the UK, or take the magic home and set up your own trail in your garden or local green space. Visit woodlandtrust.org.uk/familytrail to find a trail near you or to download your very own markers.
How to use the Nature Detectives Family Trail app
You’ll need a phone or tablet with a camera to use this augmented reality app. For best results, turn up the volume and brightness on your device.
• Look out for markers around woods with a ready-made trail, or set out your own trail at home – visit woodlandtrust.org.uk/familytrail to find out more.
• When you find a marker, open the app.
• Press the ‘start trail’ button and point the camera of your device at the tracker image, filling your screen with the image.
• Wait for it to scan and then watch Blue and Belle come to life.
• Once you’ve finished at each marker, turn off your screen to save battery as you walk to the next one.
