Desafíos Científicos 2016 se desarrolla en el marco del hackatón internacional Space Apps destinado a estudiantes. Colabora con objetivos centrales del Ministerio de Educación de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires para la educación secundaria, ya que favorece en los estudiantes el desarrollo de habilidades de comunicación; pensamiento crítico, iniciativa y creatividad; resolución de problemas y conflictos, interacción social y trabajo colaborativo; y ciudadanía responsable. Promueve además una actitud proactiva y emprendedora a partir de concretar una idea en un proyecto con impacto positivo en el entorno, a la vez que el estudiante potencia y desarrolla sus intereses, aptitudes y vocación.
