A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew
1 ★The app looks promising and the hardware is not bad, but as a scientific tool its pretty much useless since it doesn't give you any detailed information. I unfortunately have to agree that right now it's just a very expensive toy. Update: I wouldn't buy this anymore as it really did not deliver what was promised. The negative reviews are right. Another Kickstarter disappointment. Another nail into Crowdfundings coffin.
2 ★Open up the data, free up the Dev license and let the community develop more apps. Otherwise we have a single pointless app.
1 ★I payed $250 for the device and waited 2 years, and was led to believe that it was a pocket molecule scanner. I now have to laugh at this and myself for being sold a lie. The company has said that i need to pay an extra $250 for a developer license. This has destroyed any and all potential for me. I now just talk people out of buying it. You cannot really do anything such as analyze what makes up a string. You will need to depend on their good will for apps that do specific things like what is the percentage of dark chocolate. So 99% of it is junk. It takes a lot of chutzpah for this app to even get listed as a scanner. I was misled and so were the majority of their kickstarters. Beware the tides of March with this company.
1 ★The app is great. The device is barely functional and the support is appalling even after buying the full developer licence. Avoid
1 ★i cannot calibrate my scio device using the app or the button? error message "did not calibrate" on phone screen
1 ★Losing settings everyone I try to use the body fat app
5 ★Good app dont belive the negative comments all these do not has money to buy it and they are shouting her it is a good device all do not has money to buy it and dont think they have used it
1 ★250$ product with software behind a pay wall
1 ★Q what a scam
1 ★"New applets are added periodically" HA!HA!HA! What it really means is you get an update once in a while, and if you're lucky it may even comes with 1 new applet. SCIO was sold has a "scanner which could tell food content, if fruits are ripe or not. What SCIO does is letting you scan wood and tells you" It's Wood " No sh*** Sherlock! This make my wife laugh Your piece of junk cost as much as a designer handbag, but at least those are useful. So if you want to buy a SCIO, have another beer and give that money to charity. You will feel much much better
2 ★App does not show wavelengths or absorbtion/transmission levels using data. Users are not allowed access to the data from their scans without purchasing additional licenses. Company ripped off those who preordered their device with the understanding it would do the things they advertised and it doesn't. A scientific "tool" that no more than a fancy "toy" because they do not allow users access to their own data.
2 ★Does not function as promised, can't even tell what sugar is, I have yet to fully explore it, but very disappointed, I don't want something to help me select fruits, I want something that will tell me the molecular content of various substances, which is what it was advertised as.
