Description

Bothered by having your phone flip to portrait or landscape while laying down? Too lazy to look around Android settings to enable/disable autorotate? This app is the solution.

This is a very simple free app that allows you to do the following:

- Lock your screen's rotation in Landscape, Portrait or Auto. When you launch the app, you're faced with these three options.

- Includes a Tasker/Locale plugin so you can automate the rotation switch based on different profiles.

- Ability to launch the app from any window in Android by long pressing on the search key. (Only for devices that have a physical search button).

- Long press on any orientation profile to activate a persistent background service. (This is useful if your phone seems to exit the locked orientation all of a sudden due to low memory resources).

- A widget is provided so you can lock into whatever your current orientation is. (Useful for reverse landscape for example).

I've searched the Market for an app that will lock my screen's autorotate to landscape and found only one paid app that runs a service continuously in the background (regardless of chosen screen orientation) so I wrote this up. It's free and the background service is optional.

It should work on any device sporting Android 2.1 (Froyo) and higher.

5 ★Some apps force a change in orientation. Android x86 portrait mode is sideways on a PC monitor, which is terrible. This app allows you to change it back and even prevent it from changing in the first place.

4 ★The only issue is that it can't do a complete 180° (upside-down) rotation. Otherwise, wonderful little app.

4 ★For my LG G2, it interrupted the phone function. I can't answer phone calls.

5 ★Oll Korrect! (Misspelling in 1800s newspaper leading to OK) Well, this app takes up so little space! The app itself is only the screen found in the images above. My tablet has a short and the right side will not respond to touch for about a half inch. Unfortunately, the way most apps are set up, most buttons fall in that 1/2 inch. THIS APP HAS CURED THIS! When my tablet decides to not work, I can force the screen whichever way allieves that. I love this so much!

4 ★Like the simple interface. And it's doing what it is supposed to do. One negative thingy: it shows a blank icon in the notification area. Improvement would be to display a real icon.

5 ★I've been having this annoying bug that does not allow my home screen to rotate into landscape mode, and it's solved thanks to Rotation Locker. For those with the same problem and looking for a quick solve, this app is a better option than Nova Launcher. And it's free =D
