조선 후기의 화가 혜원 신윤복(申潤福)의 풍속화첩.조선 후기는 회화사상 특기할 만한 새로운 경향, 즉 명·청시대의 미술을 소화하면서 뚜렷한 민족적인 자아의식을 지닌 가장 한국적인 화풍이 형성된 시기였으며 신윤복은 이러한 시기를 대표하는 화가이다. 신윤복의 풍속화는 단원(檀園) 김홍도(金弘道)가 소탈하고 익살맞은 서민의 애환을 묘사하고 있는 데 반해 남녀의 에로틱한 장면, 곧 양반·한량의 외도에 가까운 풍류와 남녀간의 애정이 적나라하게 표현되었다. , , , , 등 모두 30점으로 이루어졌으며, 각 폭마다 제시(題詩)와 낙관이 있다.
구도는 동양화에서 중히 여기는 여백을 살리기보다는 화면 전체를 가득 채우고 있으며, 대개 인물을 중심으로 그렸는데 유연하고 간결한 세필(細筆)로 특히 여체(女體)가 정확히 묘사되었다. 색정적인 표현이 넘치는데도 불구하고 여기에 실린 작품들은 모두 지저분한 느낌을 주지 않는 격조 높은 작품으로 평가된다.
1970년 12월 30일 국보 제135호로 지정되었다.
