Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

4 ★I've used several species recorders. This is very good. Took a little time to work out some of the functionality (e.g padlocks) but has some neat tricks. Entering long lists from single location still faster/easier on a desktop PC but the app is great when in the field.
4 ★Love this app. Some elements of the UI are out of alignment but otherwise very good experience. I use this mostly for recording moths. If it wasn't for birdtrack I would use this exclusively for everything.
2 ★Super confusing. I want to use this app because it has a lot of different animals and plants but when i upload a photo it doesn't let me put in the location. The format of the irecord butterfly is much easier to use and actually works.
5 ★iRecord is a revelation to me. I can now put to good use the natural history records that I've kept for years . Instead of just keeping them in a book I can input the information , from years back , onto a national database. Genius !
3 ★Good interface, very accurate. However my uploads have been sitting on "pending" for nearly a month now, are they in a queue or has something gone wrong?
4 ★Great app for recording local biodiversity in the UK, just a few minor issues re how much time it takes to add older records - it would be great if the app could automatically grab location/date info from a photo as some other recording apps can :)
5 ★Makes recording your finds and sightings and uploading them to the Biological Records Centre super easy. Contribute to our knowledge of biodiversity in this time of change... you will also end up with a lovely graphical database of your own finds.
4 ★takes a while to get used to, (eg when offline the map is not visible - just a reddot_ doesn't seem to tell you that it has the exact coordinates of position) will the data be sent to Woodland trusts Ancient :tree inventory?
5 ★Easy to use and view own records in one place. Makes biological recording easy and quick to do on the spot while out and about. Species data is shared with other organisations and local record centres.
5 ★Great phone app, web site a little less easy to interogate. Main issue, doesnt recognise when connected via WiFi to (rural, as in very slow intermittent) broadband and won't load to web site.
4 ★great app that allows me to microvolunteer whenever I can! I do wish it was more user friendly and that you could save sites as favourites rather than have to add them for every sighting. great work!
4 ★Excellent for updating records on the go, but very limited options for information to add (no fields for habitat, sex etc, that info needs to go in comments). I think that means there is less added value in records added through the app
