5 ★Full score for the service. The app started getting better, recently, too. They show retail selling price and portion size, both of which are really strong factors for determining a restaurant convenience. Much more could be done in this direction, for example showing what venues get sold out first (even stronger indicator of people likeness). But when their servers crash… we do panic, since our lunch is on the line. A better fall back system is mandatory.
3 ★Good price, but they added a feature to charge an extra dollar per meal, it's called a tip, and there's no confirmation screen, so if you click it by mistake, too bad (customer support said I have to click the right box). Anyway, decent price on food, gotta be careful about tip, bad customer support - not just my case, but a friend got ripped off when promotion didn't get applied.
1 ★The purpose of the app is good but after a first trial decided to cancel my membership due to the lack of choice. The task seems, however, impossible. The app does not have an option to delete the account (or at least, is very well hidden). I have requested to terminate my membership twice through the customer service, but I am still being charged. Definitely not a transparent behavior.
1 ★This is the worst app when it comes to ease of use and flexible meal options. They have the least transparent terms and conditions. What's the worst thing is you have no option to cancel your subscription at anytime. Even when I had put my subscription on hold, I was charged for the next meal plan. Just today I had updated the hold on my account for another 3 months and then I get the notification for my card being charged. This is the least reliable app I have ever used and the worst support.
1 ★Very poor experience with Mealpal. I would have given zero stars if that was an option. I cancelled my subscription after first month and they still charged me in the next cycle. When i tried to call them and ask to cancel, they said it cant be dont and I can only cancel in next month. So I am forced to use their service. They dont respond ro emails to make sure you are not able to reach them in time. Highly disappointed and dissatisfied with their service.
2 ★I like mealpal but hate the May 2019 app updates. Defaults to one location (I'm all over the place and don't have a set work office) that searches start from. Clicking on map locations doesn't show the meal anymore. it seems you have to move around the map and see what pops up...not exactly an efficient way to choose a meal. The app was already a bit limited (you really need the desktop version to manage your account), but now the whole process is just ugh.
1 ★Their customer service is horrible. Even though it's convinient, multiple times I found it undependable, as in meal was not served as scheduled. In an instance where they stole 2 of my unused meals, instead of understanding, they chose to claim that I was in the wrong and there is nothing they can do. They have a lot to learn and I would not recommend this service.
1 ★Tried it for a month and can honestly say that this service has no transparency and bad customer service. First, you have to create an account (meaning entering your credit card details) BEFORE you can see the food and locations that the app offers. What? Second, its extremely hard to cancel your plan. You cant do it on the app; have to either send them an email, or do it on desktop. Third, you can choose to hold your account, but take note, once you do so, you won't be able to cancel.
2 ★Very weird, signed up as it claims you can get 40% off you first month in London. I put in my email and a password and my location. No mention of the initial offer and it hasn't even sent me a confirmation email. Now the app wants me to put in my credit card details... Haven't used the service but surely this app should be much better and clear about the offers.
2 ★Good deal. Biggest gripe: server overloads during peak lunch hours when code scan is inaccessible. Also cannot scan with poor data, but some restaurants are in basements. Some meals always get reserved within the first 15 minutes. Inconveniently, some functions only available on computer: pausing monthly subscription renewals, changing plan. Once, my restaurant had a fire, and MP staff responded on email to just go to another place, no scan. Didn't go over well. Waste of my time and no apology.
2 ★the app is a good idea. but I think it is wrong and illegal to charge people's accounts without approval. it was never said that the plan autorenews. the app has no means to cancel account or change card or payment details. it's like some prison. no customer service even by email. no response. I'm currently stuck with about 90 dollars charged from my account without my consent and no way to cancel. so beware. you get in, u get stuck, they take your money and force you to use the app
1 ★When i downloaded the app, it deducted from my credit card without consent or any information about how much they are deducting ( until they charged my credit card). It is like taking your money without telling you how much. I have asked for refund at first and they didn't not wish to do so. Now they wrote to me they will refund me ( minus applicable charges???) Sound like a scam to me! I hope I can get my full refund 😡
