Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

1 ★Why can't The Age make a better effort to support Android? Don't they realize how many customers they will lose.
3 ★App works fine. My wife has an ipad and its version has the daily crossword. Why cant it be in the android version? Has been this way for years now. Come on fairfax, if you want people to go the digital path you do your bit.
1 ★Seriously, why else would someone fork out money for this, if not for the crosswords? But, while they're available on iOS, they're not on Android ... why? And why hasn't the app been updated in over a year? Definitely not going to be subscribing to this POC.
1 ★Sorry, am sick of waiting for this thing to change pages when I tell it. On broadband too. Uninstalling
2 ★Why is there an international transaction fee associated with the monthly subscription if this is an Australian newspaper? Considering cancelling because of this.
1 ★Can no longer see / use the Super Quiz, hasn't been addresses in 3 weeks, and a lot of the content that is not available for my subscription level is freely available in the digital edition. I'm cancelling my subscription - terrible value for money, and the overall standard of this paper has dropped considerably since the paywall came into effect.
1 ★After working well for 18 months is now loading blank pages and is unusable. No reply from support after a week. Don't bother.
4 ★If you can include the crosswords in the IPad version, why not for Android? The news stories work well on my Nexus 7.
1 ★Clumsy on Samsung tab , very slow, disappointed that I signed up, too much 'This plugin not supported' filling the screen, keen to get better results, please advise
1 ★Don't bother downloading this app. Fairfax no longer support it and your digital subscription will no longer be accessible on this app. Your choice is to buy an iPad (urg) or use the website access. If you choose the latter, make sure you downgrade your subscription and save yourself a couple of dollars a week. For months we've been paying for an app we can't access because we don't own an iPad while we waited thinking they would fix the login issue. Nice of Fairfax to let us know. Geez, can't imagine why they're losing money...
2 ★No longer able to read quiz due to stupid advert. 3 days in a row now. Does no one at the age actually look at what they put up for all to read?
3 ★It runs smoothly on my Nexus 5, but it was not what I expected -- I hoped to have the layout exactly the same as the newspaper, not a reformatted TheAge website. If FairFox can have it done on iPads, why not do the same thing on Android tablets?
