SPEED READING
Increase your reading speed in 1.5-2 times straight away! If you wish you could read 3 or even 4 times faster than usual without the slightest loss of meaning.
Reedy uses a technique called RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) allowing you to read with any comfortable speed. Words are shown fast one after another on the same place of the screen which increases the speed of perception of every single word. With RSVP you can read being entirely absorbed into a book.
Look straight at the displayed word and try to perceive it without subvocal articulation. Also, don’t forget to blink. This recommendation can be applied not only to reading :) You should never let your eyes’ surface get dry.
Increase the speed when you get used to and think you’re ready.

5 ★My epilepsy makes it hard for me to spend too much time tracking anything on a screen, which, as it's gotten worse, has made it really difficult to continue reading the long essays I've always enjoyed. I hadn't even thought to look for anything like this until now. It works great, supports a growing number of formats, and is extremely customizable. I'm grateful for it, highly recommend it, and will be donating.
3 ★I've been using reedy for years but i had been greatly disappointed with the new update. Here's why i didn't give it a 5 star rating. I can't double tap the screen to pause and play like i used to. When using text - to - speech, the display doesn't stay on like it used to and the voice setting keeps changing whenever i collapse the app. In my opinion this was better before the update. There is also the problem with the path storage when you have multiple folders, you need to reboot for new path.
2 ★I have been using Reedy for a good long while now and have been very happy. Unfortunately the last update has caused major battery-draining issues. A couple of other bugs have also been introduced but none of them as severe as the battery drainage. I hope that will be fixed in the future so that I can return to Reedy, but at the moment I feel that I need to find another app to read for me :(
5 ★Flexible speed for 1 word display mode. Video presentation would be higly appreciated to send it to friends 😍 and make it easy to understand why app is great. 😉
5 ★Honestly, I love this app. Whenever I find a link to something I want to read later, I copy the link and save it in reedy. Every now and they a link won't work because it's behind a pay wall or the text won't appear, but it's rare, and usually I can easily access any saved text I want, with a list of my link history. You can read the text regularly, or click to have it go through the article like on a karaoke machine, an quick and practical way of reading. An app I want to support in the future
1 ★I click the speed reading option and nothing happens. The app is stuck on the single word. The web app is much better.
2 ★The user interface sucks to be honest. I had to figure out how to use this app on my own, and I am not sure if I figured it out or not but what a disaster. The app doesn't move the text, you have to on your own, and that was the biggest put off. No extra exercises. You can import articles you want to read to the app and that was a great feature but then again the reading experience was too bad. You can only read EPUB or TXT formats. PDFs are coming soon apparently.
5 ★I like this far better than the app that has been chosen by the BBC as its future speed-reading plug-in. Seems that the recent update has improved Reedly's ability to parse web pages. It just needs more integration or a floating "Reedly this page" button to make this the thing of the future. Took me a few days to get into the habit of choosing this over a web browser... But I'm getting better and less dismissive. Very, very good tool.
5 ★I love this app. Pros: - It has never served me ads. - They help me chomp through books I want to read. - It has text to speech AND speed reading. - I haven't noticed them sending out any information I'd rather keep private. It really feels like the developer is just plain passionate about the project. That being said it does have it's downsides: -The app occasionally forgets my place in a text. (fixed by using bookmarks.) -It kept losing track of my books I downloaded from the Humble Bundle App. Meaning I had to go back and open the file anew. In spite of those bugs it feels like this is a truly free e-reader with multiple modes of conveying info into my skull. Which is exactly what I wanted at the time.
3 ★Was the best app around before the update. I'm currently having issues with loading new pages, Google tts stops working every few lines, when I do click next page it will load overtop of the old page but will not sync properly so I have to manually reload the page again. I use this app literally every day as I listen to wuxia novels while I do just about everything. Is there anyway I can get the previous version until the issues have been fixed 😭😭😭. Otherwise best app around by far!! Thanks!
4 ★At first startup, I shared the webpage to reedy. There's so many buttons , it should be kept simple. Finally I found the button to make it read aloud and the language voice settings....the little grammar phone icon was found in the menu settings instead of a big button out in the open. Devs need to make this user friendly, you should just be able to paste webpage, select the start point and read aloud button should be out in the open instead in the menus.
5 ★Have used this app for over 3 years now. Am considering buying a 120hz phone screen just so that the refresh rate can keep up with the speed of this app. Most phones right now are 60Hz which is basically a hard limit of 60frames per second. BUT if you want full crispy beautiful reedy experience at a 120fps. I would definitely go for a higher refresh rate phone screen. (such as the Razer2 or AsusROG) DEVS: I think you guys are doing a fantastic job of improving the app. Love the chrome extension as well, works well with high refresh rate monitors. The only thing that bothers me has nothing to do with your app. It's the fact that some epubs have random line- breaks. That take you by surprise, which if you use the smart slowing feature will cause the app to slow down, as if that was the end of a sentence. I know you guys try to keep the settings very minimalist (which i like) BUT I would much appreciate separating the *pause after sentence* and *pause after new line* settings Kindest regards -Keagan
