A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading). As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.
Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?
A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.
Q: What are Android App permissions?
A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★I've only gotten 4 calls since installing the app a year or two ago. There are so many volunteers, that's probably normal, but I still make a point to try and open the app once each day. Regardless of what the developers say, I suspect sometimes my phone's battery-saving settings can get in the way of it running in the background. If you never get any calls ever, try that.
4 ★So far so good. There's no ads and the app is free to use if you are a volunteer or need help. I got a call while trying to do the tutorial call because of my phone glitching/me clicking too fast maybe? And it loaded the video and then I got a call from an actual person which made me nervous but it was pretty easy. Usually people need help selecting a specific item/setting on TV (that's not accessible). The call took about 1 minute for the person to figure out and they were polite.
4 ★Really cool platform of you're looking for a way to do some good for other people. The app can be glitchy sometimes and has cause me to miss a call or lose signal, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Usually not a big deal as there's probably someone else in line ready to take the call. I've had calls about distinguishing packaging, choosing patterns, and researching HR initiatives. Once I even explained the purpose of the app to someone whose kid had installed it for them!
3 ★Great idea and glad to see that the volunteer to user ratio is very high. Unfortunately, I had to delete it instantly for a big reason. I work 12 hour overnight shifts, so I'm actually awake at night and asleep during the day. The app states it automatically assigns a call accepting window to daytime only hours based on your timezone and there's no way to change it. I'd love to at least be able to edit my time zone to trick the app into calling me at night.
3 ★idea is great!! but doesn't work for my Android phone. so far I got 4 calls and all the calls had technical issues. my first two calls I couldn't connect because upon answering the call (immediately) I got an error saying sorry couldn't connect. third time I was able to hear a person s voice but his video kept loading. 4th time even after answering the call the screen was just blank..no voice/video. p.s. all the time I was on good 4g network so this was no network issue from my end.
4 ★I just started using be my eyes. And is a fantastic application. I cannot believe the people that donate their time to provide such a service. I however do have a suggestion or 2 to improve the service. It would be fantastic if a volunteer would be able to tap on their screen to indicate where an item might be from a certain distance say for example I am looking for a bench. If they were to tap on the screen where the bench is then I would have a good general direction of where the item is.
5 ★*3/19/22 I have now gotten an additional six phone calls, perhaps because I have a good history of answering and having calls connect. It also seems to help if you occasionally open the app. I'm not sure why. Original review: Signed up July 2019 and got my first call this evening. I actually got a call a few months ago but nothing happened so I believe that means someone was faster than me. So glad to see the copious amount of volunteers!
2 ★If you're wanting to download this app to try and be able to help or do something right for once (like I did), don't. Whatever system they use to reach out to people clearly seems to favor selecting people who have successfully answered calls before. I've received (among their pointless emails talking about other people's success) one email detailing I missed a call (despite receiving no notification). And only had one call in which I stared at a 'connecting' alert for 15 minutes.
3 ★Just completed a call, video was very grainy, still photos were much better. The caller needed help finding an expiration date, and it's location wasn't clear. After I took about 6 stills, it failed to take any more stills, then my screen locked up and I lost video altogether. Caller had to hang up without me resolving their question. I had to close my phone and reopen it to get the screen to unfreeze.
5 ★There's nearly 2million volunteers per the 100K users that rely on this app, which means you don't get called frequently, but it's exciting when you do! Someone else beat me to one call, and the other time, I was privileged to help a gentleman verify the contents of an important document. It was a fun and relaxed experience, and an amazing personal use of technology. We hope we get to help again soon!
5 ★Although there are a few small tweaks that could make this app better, overall this is a great app. This app is all about helping others that are visually impaired. There are no ads, it's free. It's just to help others. It has a small footprint on your phone and runs unnoticed until someone needs help. Give it a try and be the eyes for someone. I have it on my phone so I know that it works without hurting or slowing down your phone.
3 ★*Check authorizations in app settings* The authorization for the camera in the app may need revoked automatically, as well as the microphone if unused for too long. Considering i get one call every few months, i have missed several opportunities to answer a call because my camera wouldn't open on the app. It would be nice if there was a disclaimer to check permissions and make sure they aren't auto revoked with inactivity. That's all
