The application can be useful for deaf people to watch TV programs which are translating without closed captions or subtitles.How to use. Launch the app. Place the phone 1-2 meters from the TV. Press the Start button. Adjust the audio volume on your TV. Audio level yellow bar should touch the green zone on the scale. Read the text on your phone that has been recognized.
Recognition accuracy is about 80%. If there is a lot of extraneous noise in the TV program (for example, sports reports with noise from the audience), then the accuracy will decrease.
Best results can be achieved using an external microphone. The deaf son of the author of the application uses a wired external microphone (wire length 2 m), which is located near the TV speakers. By using an external microphone, the recognition quality and accuracy are well increased.
