4 ★Update. app is working much better, still a little clunky with scrolling and going back to listings. Filters clear everytime you click on a profile and head back to listing. Payments always say there is an error and then say they've gone through twice, however it only hit account once. Doesn't alert for all new messages. .... 2 years on, still doesn't work smoothly. unable to upload pictures to profiles. clunky app. alerts though email, text and notification is too much and cant turn it off.
3 ★The app is not intuitive, and is poorly designed from a user perspective. I use the same home visitor regularly, but the menu functions are not user friendly. I have to use a previous booking to access the calendar to make a request for subsequent booking. Why cant I pick the sitter I want and click to select the days and times I want? TBH I'm thinking of going back to use the website on my desktop PC to.make bookings.
4 ★Lifesaving😁 I used the app for the first time 2 weeks ago to find a pet sitter in my area. I like that we were able to organise a meet/greet through the site. Once we got started it was so easy! you can add services eg pick up, as you go. The confirmation process itself was initially a little clunky and I had problems with finalising due to a review being requested each time (do I really need to say how great my sitter is each time?)
2 ★I can only echo the many issues that both clients and sitters have with using both this app and the website. Although it is fair for the developers to ask for details in response to user's reviews here - the nature of problems are such that it is clear that they haven't properly understood all the use cases/customer journeys through this app (and the website). My main concern is the unnecessarily complicated 2 -step process of a sitter getting paid at the end of a job. 1. The client has to 'Confirm the end of stay' - this involves the sitter sometimes chasing the client to do this, otherwise they have to wait for the job to auto-close after 7 days. 2. The sitter has to then redeem the money from their balance. Why can't the sitter be paid automatically when the end date of the job has passed? (BTW - competitor apps do this.) This unjustifiably complicated sitter payment process opens up accusations of holding onto money for longer then necessary...
3 ★I have been a sitter on MadPaws for over 2 years. The app has always been an issue. It has merged dates on multiple bookings and takes so long to load up the home screen. Even with the most recent update it still definitely needs some software development.sometimes it takes so long to open the app clients have already messaged another sitter as it takes so long to reply. PLEASE FIX THIS!
3 ★The app is ok, does need more features to correspond to the website. BUG REPORT: PLEASSSSSSE FIX THE ANDROID PHOTO UPLOAD ISSUE ASAP!! This is vital for successful communication between pet host/sitter and pet owners. You cannot upload photos to the messages area or the bookings. It will allow you to go into your photo gallery and select the photo, but it doesn't upload. I think it would also help to show a tip on file size recommendation under the box, as I just thought it was my file size.
1 ★Update 30/09 - haven't been able to open the app for weeks, have uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. Not ideal as having to go the browser to manage incoming and current bookings is not as convenient as the app. previous 4 star review : great app but would like to be able to upload pictures without having to go through the messages again and a bulk upload would be really beneficial
3 ★love that a nearby pet sitter can be found through this app easily. clunky app in a couple ways 1. wish i could choose how the notifcations come through as it's currently x3 notifcations by text, email and standard pop up with every msg between the pet sitter! too much!! 2. waiting for the sitter accept booking then you pay, then you accept the work theyve done before oayment goes through. anyway, glad to have the app 😊
2 ★While we have had good experiences with sitters through the app, the app itself is frustrating to use. Although you set filters e.g dates and the type of service you're after, it doesn't appear to sync to the sitters' availabilities and services offered! This leads to having to send multiple requests to different sitters. Then if you overlap this isn't fair on the sitters who you've contacted. Also it's not quick to define the services available e.g "Day care" is not defined in the app.
1 ★Impossible to add a pet. Won't let you upload photos, forces you to scroll through a thousand breeds instead of letting you type one in. Utterly impossible to use. Most frustrating, non-user friendly app I've had the misfortune to use. Update: now you can't scroll though pet sitter profiles, just keeps returning you to the top of the page. Honestly, I give up.
5 ★I love the Mad paws app It's easy to use and makes contact between pet owner and sitter very easy but still has safeguards so that both parties need to agree befor exchanging details. You can upload photos for the owner which is great and messages are recorded. With the back up of the 24/7 contact centre the service is excellent.The mobile app does not have as many options as the desktop site (i.e request payment) which would be a definite improvement.
3 ★Love the service, as it allows us to take care of loving dogs since we can't currently own one of our one. Thank you mad paws for bringing so much love into our lives ♥️ on the downside the app could still be immensely improved, everytime I try to update the calendar through the app is not possible and only in the computer I'm able to, same with the profile. It's not possible to upload videos through the chat to the pet owners and the pics most of the times error when uploading. Love it still ♥️
