Description

Is It Vegan is a tool for anyone interested in eliminating animal products from their diet.

Simply scan the UPC bar code on the package of any food or beverage product, and you'll see:

Whether the product is vegan, vegetarian, or neither.

A summary classifying the list of ingredients.

A detail list showing which ingredients are vegan, vegetarian, non-vegetarian, etc.

And the original (unclassified) list of ingredients for the product.

After putting each ingredient into a category, Is It Vegan then decides whether the product is suitable for a vegan or vegetarian diet.

Is It Vegan has information on hundreds of thousands of food and beverage products and verifies each of them using a master list containing thousands of pre-classified ingredients.

Users now have the option to upload products, making our database larger than ever!

Notice: Data on products outside the USA is extremely limited at this time. For best results, please scan food products from the USA.

1 ★I found this app completely useless. I scanned about 30 different common items and I have not recieved a single green light. Everything I scanned came back as "unsure".

4 ★Okay, so I don't know if the developer is still active or not. But if you are, please incorporate an option to pay to get rid of ads. Seriously I would be happy to pay for an ad free experience

1 ★I've scanned 3 items and all of them got the result 'not sure'. Then out of curiosity scanned a bottle of water and when it got the same result as others I decided to leave this review and uninstall the app.

1 ★Needs a lot of work. If improved it will be worth paying for.

2 ★I love the idea but the app doesn't work for most products, both vegan and not. It's really rather useless when most things pop up as 'not sure'!

1 ★Intrusive ads. Small database but for some reason had an entry for my brand of toilet paper? Pass.

2 ★Need much more data, it is a great idea, poorly executed. This app would have been better had they added a sufficient amount of data and food/drinks before release.

1 ★Nice try. The app is violently spamming you. There are ads on every page, yet this does not satisfy the greedy developer and after each scan the screen will be covered with advertisments, some even meat related. Useful, but not that useful.

1 ★It didn't even let me put the barcode In there, it wouldn't focus, kept going In and out, even when I tried putting it In manually nothing happened, complete garbage DO NOT recommend.
