O MOPA é uma plataforma digital que permite que os munícipes da Cidade de Maputo possam monitorar a recolha do lixo nos seus bairros. Esta plataforma está disponível através da internet (www.mopa.co.mz), em dispositivos móveis (smartphones) e também através do código #311* em todas as operadoras móveis nacionais (Vodacom, Mcel, Movitel).O MOPA foi desenvolvido pela UX para a DMGRSUS (Direcção Municipal de Gestão de Resíduos Sólidos Urbanos e Salubridade) do Concelho Municipal de Maputo. Este projecto conta com o apoio do Banco Mundial e foi vencedor da Global Innovation Competition 2016 da Making All Voices Count.
Esta plataforma usa o munícipe como sensor dos problemas do lixo na cidade. Ao baixares a app podes escolher problemas que estás a ver na tua zona e criar um relatório que é enviado automaticamente para o Concelho Municipal e também para a empresa responsável pela recolha do lixo na tua zona. Todos os relatórios ficam disponibilizados em tempo real na página do MOPA, em www.mopa.co.mz. O Concelho Municipal vai resolver o teu problema, e depois de o fazer vai fechar o problema na plataforma e tu serás notificado. Quanto mais mopares mais limpa vai ficar a nossa cidade, e mais informação sobre os locais com lixo o Município de Maputo vai ter, para depois poder planear melhor a recolha e limpeza do lixo.
