De "Autoroutes Eerste Wereldoorlog in de Westhoek" applicatie is een gids en reisgezel die je meeneemt op autotochten langs belangwekkende plekken waar de Eerste Wereldoorlog zich afspeelde en hun verhalen in de Westhoek.De applicatie brengt je offline via zijn navigatietool naar belangwekkende plekken over de oorlog. De eerste routes begeleiden je op een tocht langs de verhalen van de medische evacuatieroutes waarlangs gewonden in de Eerste Wereldoorlog weg van het front werden gebracht.
Vandaag kan je alvast deze routes volgen in de Oorlog en Trauma routes:
* Gas op Hill 60 (5 mei 1915)
Je volgt de evacuatie van de gewonden van de gasaanval op Hill 60 waar het 2de bataljon van de Irish Guard op 5 mei 1915 het slachtoffer van werd.
* Enkele reis Boezinge – Mendinghem (31 juli 1917)
Je krijgt het verhaal van de eerste gewonden van de derde slag bij Ieper worden het binnenland ingebracht. En waar bonenstaken voor dienden.
* De laatste reis van Felix Bastin (4 november 1917)
Een Belgische dokter sneuvelt in de Dodengang en wordt naar Alveringem gebracht. Een reis langs ambulances en hospitalen.
