Description
The Wienarchitektur app offers information about more than 300 contemporary buildings in Vienna. The selection was based on several sources, taking account of buildings from the wienarchitektur.at collection (selection & texts developed jointly with Architekturzentrum Wien) and from the exhibitions “YoVa” and “Built” organised by Municipal Department 19 as well as incorporating a number of buildings that form part of the Open House Vienna visit programme.The projects are presented by way of a brief text and one photo each. The locations are georeferenced, while the function “Near you” shows the buildings nearest to the user’s current position. Moreover, buildings can also be grouped by planners, districts and functions as well as chronologically.
Except for the maps, all texts and images are stored offline on the user’s smartphone. The app is bilingual (German and English).
